Friday Fun Day at Coastal Ultrasound Institute! 🐾🩺

Our students got a fun peek into a side of ultrasound they don’t see every day!

We’re so lucky to have one of our instructors, Kayla O’Shea, who also performs veterinary ultrasounds at Theodore Veterinary Hospital, share a little glimpse into the veterinary world. From tiny patients with four legs to the skills that carry over into human imaging, it was such a fun way to see just how versatile ultrasound can be.

We love giving our students opportunities to explore all the amazing paths this profession has to offer. Thanks, Kayla, for bringing a little extra Friday fun to the classroom! 💙

What a great day at Coastal Ultrasound Institute! 🫀

Today some of our staff and our students became CPR certified, and we had the best time while learning one of the most important lifesaving skills there is!

A huge thank you to Jennifer and Raven from the American Heart Association for spending the day with us. Your knowledge, patience, and hands-on teaching made the training engaging, fun, and incredibly valuable. We truly appreciate the time you took to make sure every one of us felt confident and prepared to respond in an emergency.

At The Coastal Ultrasound Institute, learning never stops, and we’re committed to making sure our students and staff are ready for whatever comes their way. Thank you for helping us build confidence, teamwork, and lifesaving skills!

We have 3 openings today if any expecting moms would like to come have a free ultrasound done! We have 1, 2, and 3 pm available! We just ask that you are at least 18 weeks and have already had your anatomy scan done! You can call 251-387-4284 to get scheduled!

🩺 One cuff, one stethoscope, and the first step toward a lifetime of patient care!

Today our students traded the classroom for hands-on learning as they mastered one of the most important clinical skills: taking blood pressure. It may seem simple, but every accurate reading starts with the right technique, attention to detail, and plenty of practice.

Watching confidence grow with every cuff inflation is one of the best parts of what we do. These future sonographers are building the foundation for exceptional patient care, one blood pressure at a time. 💙

Meet Kayla O’Shea, RDMS, RVT!

She is our newest instructor at the Coastal Ultrasound Institute!

Kayla brings 17 years of ultrasound experience in hospital and clinical settings, with a strong background in general, vascular, OB/GYN, small parts, and interventional procedures. She even uses her ultrasound skills in veterinary medicine, which we think is pretty amazing!

She has a true heart for teaching and loves helping future sonographers grow in confidence, skill, and patient care.

Outside of ultrasound, Kayla is just as fun and talented. She played college softball, loves the beach, builds and sells custom homes, and enjoys her “grannie hobbies” like making sourdough, gardening, canning vegetables, and caring for plants.

We are so excited and proud to have Kayla as part of the CUI family! 💙
