Ronnie was with her mama for a while before she was found with a bad eye. The morning she came to the barn I was in a rush to get to town and running out of time. Me, approaching the barn with a bottle, watched her run and kick in the stall. She was mad. Initially, so mad I figured she was a bull. I slowly entered the stall showing the bottle, letting milk drip and reaching for her snout.
She wasn't having it.
Normally I'd have walked away and waited a while, but time was not allowing this luxury.
[I had to get her down to feed] She circled and kicked as I reached for her front leg, trying to get her off balance. When I got her front leg, I quickly grabbed for the back leg but she had turned her hind at me and kicked, making contact with my wrist and then the inside of my elbow.

I screamed, went in fast and flopped her on her side, put my weight on her as she flailed, I grabbed the bottle and force fed the starving brat. She sucked the bottle down.
My daughter came down to the barn after hearing the ruckus. I was ok, but that arm hurt for two week. The bone in my wrist was tender for much longer.
(We made it to town on time.)
Here she is, a month or so later. We made up. She stopped trying to kill me. We're friends now.
The milk lady is alright. 👍
p.s. thought she was a bull and named her Captain Ron, after the movie. noticed my mistake so technically her name it Captain Ronnie.
