We did it! We reached our $10,000 Fund-A-Need goal!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we reached our goal to support the Youth Navigation Center (YNC) and the programs and services that help young people find safety, stability and support.

A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who donated, shared our campaign and helped spread the word. We’re especially grateful to the Mary Stuart Rogers Foundation for matching every dollar donated, doubling the impact of your generosity!

Because of you, more youth and young adults ages 13–24 experiencing a crisis, housing instability or homelessness can access emergency shelter, meals and connections to resources to help them take their next steps toward a brighter future.

We’re so close to the finish line! Our Fund-A-Need campaign has raised $9,753 — 97.53% of our $10,000 goal! We need just $247 more to reach our goal, and there are only a couple of days left before the end of the month!

Celebrating 50 Years of Hutton House

For 50 years, Hutton House has provided a safe place for youth ages 13–17 and their families during times of crisis. Our 24/7 temporary emergency shelter offers overnight and drop-in services for young people experiencing homelessness, running away from home, or navigating difficult situations.

Yesterday, we hosted our Fall Donor Appreciation Reception at our Youth and Family Behavioral Health Center!

Our Development and Communications Director, Johnny Padilla, opened the event by sharing the impact our donors make in supporting CHS. Our CEO, Gina Machado, also spoke and led a reflective exercise inviting guests to close their eyes and raise their hands if they had ever met someone who could have benefited from CHS services or shelter. This powerful moment highlighted how connected we all are and how our programs can make a difference in the lives of people in our community.

Our guests also enjoyed a tour of the center, learned more about CHS’s core programs, and heard a former Two Gen client share her story and the impact of our services. It was a wonderful evening of connection, learning, and meaningful conversations.

A special thank-you to Delicioso Bistro for catering the delicious food and Naes_Sweet_Snax for providing delectable desserts!

We’re so grateful to all the donors who joined us and continue to support CHS and our mission of changing lives and building futures. Thank you for being part of our community!

Meet Julie Garcia!

Julianna “Julie” Garcia, a senior at Grace M. Davis High School and City of Modesto Youth Commissioner, is turning her passion for helping others into meaningful community impact.

Through a homecoming fundraiser, Julie raised $1,252 for the Youth Navigation Center (YNC), exceeding her $1,000 goal! Her commitment to supporting local youth doesn’t stop there. She’s planning a hygiene drive with classmates, school clubs, and community members to collect essential supplies for youth in need.

Julie’s leadership reminds us how much of a difference young people can make when they come together to support their community.

This Saturday, October 24, our Development & Communications Director, Johnny Padilla, represents CHS as he "takes the leap" at LearningQuest - Stanislaus Literacy Centers 3rd Annual Over The Edge fundraiser, supporting both literacy and our CHS programs!

Every donation helps LearningQuest provide programs that build confidence, strengthen families, and open doors to new opportunities. Plus, a portion of the funds raised comes directly back to support our own CHS programs and services!

A heartfelt thank you to Dot Foods for their generous $6,000 donation in support of our Adopt-a-Family project and our Family Resource Centers’ Thanksgiving dinners!
