On August 15, a magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck off the coast of Flores Island in East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia — the strongest to hit the region since 1992. Dozens have died, more than a thousand are injured, and thousands of families are sleeping in open fields and makeshift tents tonight because their homes are gone.
