One of the best parts of working in a multi-doctor practice is the collaboration. Each veterinarian brings a unique background, skill set, and perspective, allowing us to learn from one another and approach cases from different angles. The result is better patient care, more efficient problem-solving, and a workplace that’s both productive and fun. Great medicine happens when great teams work together. 🐴✨

Dr. Helmer from the Large Animal Department and Dr. Houston from the Small Animal Department rolled up to middle school career day with what can only be described as a travel-size educational farm: one mini donkey, one mini horse, one goat, and one very patient dog.

Nothing says “veterinary medicine” quite like unloading a tiny petting zoo in the school parking lot before first period. Safe to say we may have stolen the spotlight from the PowerPoint presentations. 🐴🐐🐶

Please note that our clinic will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25, 2026 in observance of Memorial Day.

As always our large animal department will be available for emergencies. If you have a large animal emergency please call 207-933-6424 for the on call doctor.

We will reopen with normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

Our boss somehow manages to do the work of veterinarian, manager, owner, mentor, and problem-solver all at once — and still occasionally steps into surgery to help us because it “only takes two seconds.” Watching her work is incredible. Her skill, efficiency, and calmness are unmatched, but what we appreciate most is her dedication to mentorship and guidance. Her wisdom truly knows no bounds, and we’re lucky to learn from a legend every day.
