We’re proud to welcome Maya Mehall to the Merkle Funeral Service team as a Licensed Funeral Director and Certified Crematory Operator.

Maya joined our team in March 2026, bringing with her a strong foundation in education, experience, and compassion. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2025, and gained valuable hands-on experience at Voran Funeral Homes during her apprenticeship.

Her dedication to funeral service is rooted in a genuine commitment to care for families with respect, dignity, and understanding.

Outside of work, Maya enjoys spending time with her family and pets—Milo, Luna, Ivy, and Scout—as well as drawing, reading, gaming, and connecting with friends.

Merkle Funeral Service not only cares for flags to be retired, we also store flags for the Monroe Exchange Club. Some of our professional team members, Anna Walters, Maya Mehall, Arnita Easterling, Noel Lipinski, and Brian Merkle delivered flags to the visitor center on Tuesday morning. The Field of Honor will be dedicated at 1:00pm on Saturday; June 27, 2026, and will be on display until the closing ceremony at 12:00pm on Wednesday; July 8, 2026.
