🌶️🔥 Things got a little SPICY at Sterlington Community Care Center! 🔥🌶️

We turned up the heat with our Homemade Chili Cook-Off! 🥣❤️ Our contestants brought their best recipes, and our residents had the most important job of all — taste-testing and voting for the WINNERS! 🏆🗳️

From secret ingredients to family recipes, the competition was HOT! 🔥 Our residents enjoyed delicious chili, lots of laughter, and the excitement of choosing their favorites!

A BIG thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event such a success! ❤️

Brian, your leadership, dedication, and commitment to our residents and staff do not go unnoticed. Thank you for the countless ways you support, encourage, and guide our team each day. Your hard work behind the scenes and your heart for our facility make a difference in more ways than you know.

My Rehab Story

A series of events led me to Sterlington Rehab. I started with a sever throat infection, I could not swallow, could not eat or drink for a week. I was starting to improve but left feeling weak and run down. Next, I fell one morning, i got up out of bed, lost my balance and fell into a wall which resulted in a broken hip and a fractured neck. After seven days in the hospital, hip surgery and neck in a brace I was released to rehab but only for a day. My colon did not like all the pain meds and stopped working which resulted in another hospital stay of 9 days. I was so weak I was totally dependent on my family and hospital staff for 100 percent care. I was finally sent to rehab again at Sterlington still being dependent on others for my care. I received excellent care and daily therapy. I knew I had to put in the work to get up and moving again. After a 24 day stay and many prayers I finally get to go home. I went from not being able to do anything for myself to being on my way to being dependent again. The saying it takes a Village is so true … I am very thankful for my God, my family, the Staff, the Aids , Physical Therapist and Nurses at Sterlington to get me from where I was to where I am today.

There’s something powerful about hearing the wisdom of those who have lived, loved, learned, and made a lifetime of memories. 💛

We asked our residents, “If I could do it again, I would…” and their answers made us smile, laugh, and even tugged at our hearts. 🥹

Their words are a beautiful reminder to love deeply, chase the dream, make the memories, and enjoy the life you’re living right now. ❤️
