Seate’s Syrup & More has been so busy lately that we haven’t had a chance to share some BIG news!
For years, I dreamed and prayed about having my own commercial processing kitchen. What started as a dream for a business was really a prayer for my family.
Many of you know that our son, Jayden, has faced more challenges in his 13 years than most people face in a life. He was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, a rare neurological condition, and has undergone multiple brain surgeries, spinal cord surgery, Achilles tendon surgeries, eye surgery, countless therapies, hospital visits, and medical appointments.
Because of his needs, I left my career as a legal assistant to become his full-time caregiver. It wasn’t the path I expected, but it was exactly where I was needed.
As I searched for ways to support his health, I became interested in natural wellness. That’s when I discovered elderberry syrup. After trying several recipes and not loving any of them, I started creating my own. Eventually, I developed a recipe my family loved, and before long I was sharing it with friends, family, and neighbors.
Then came the unexpected.
One day I received a large packet from the Health Department explaining the regulations surrounding the production and sale of elderberry syrup. At the time, it felt overwhelming. We suddenly realized that if we wanted to continue, we would need to find a commercial kitchen and do everything the right way.
What felt like a setback turned out to be an answered prayer.
We started renting commercial kitchen space over an hour away. Every production day meant loading and unloading ingredients, glass bottles, equipment, and supplies multiple times. It was exhausting, expensive, and uncertain. We had no retailers and no guarantees it would work.
But God continued opening doors.
One of the greatest blessings along the way was Katheryn Eason Davis of Kate Clyde Catered Creations and The Camellia Room. Although we had never met, she heard about my need for kitchen space and immediately offered help. For years she allowed me to rent space locally and taught me so much about operating in a commercial kitchen. Her kindness, generosity, and support played a huge role in helping Seate’s Syrup & More grow into what it is today.
I will always be grateful for her.
After years of hard work, planning, permits, inspections, paperwork, prayers, and perseverance, I am beyond excited to officially say:
Seate’s Syrup & More is now the proud owner of its very own commercial processing kitchen!
We have passed all city inspections and Health Department inspections, and we are officially operating in a space designed specifically for our business and our family’s needs.
This kitchen represents so much more than stainless steel and equipment. It represents faith, perseverance, answered prayers, and a community that believed in us every step of the way.
To every customer, retailer, friend, family member, contractor, inspector, supporter, and prayer warrior who helped make this happen- thank you. We could not have done this without you.
Most importantly, thank you to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for His faithfulness, grace, mercy, and provision through every season.
What once felt impossible is now standing right in front of us. God is good❣️
