Sometimes nourishment doesn't come from the kitchen.

Sometimes it comes with four paws, soft eyes, and the quiet reminder that we are safe enough to rest.

This is my sweet Summer. She has an incredible way of finding me when I need to slow down, breathe, and simply be present.

The relationships that nourish us aren't always with people. Sometimes they're curled up beside us, asking for nothing more than our company.

Today, I'm grateful for this kind of love.

A little sunshine for dessert. ☀️🍑

These Gluten-Free Citrus Olive Oil Mini Cakes topped with grilled peaches are proof that dessert can be both simple and spectacular.

Bright citrus, fruity olive oil, caramelized peaches, and a dollop of creamy vanilla Cocojune come together in every bite—making them the perfect ending to a summer meal.

This sweet finale made its debut at July's The Inner Table, and now I'm excited to share it with the entire WTFork community.

Stress eating isn't a lack of willpower—it's often biology.

When we live in chronic stress, our nervous system looks for quick sources of comfort and relief. Understanding the science behind our cravings helps replace shame with curiosity—and that's where lasting change begins.

Take a moment to explore this diagram, then visit the Feature Articles https://www.wtfork.com/features to learn more about the connection between our nervous system, nourishment, and eating behaviors.

One of my favorite dishes from July's The Inner Table was these Grilled Chicken Kebabs with Saffron Aioli.

But one of my favorite parts of hosting is making sure everyone feels welcome at the table.

When one of my guests requested a vegetarian option, I didn't create a different meal—I simply prepared the same recipe using tofu. The same smoky spices. The same creamy saffron aioli. The same opportunity to gather, share, and enjoy the experience together.

Because hospitality isn't about cooking separate meals. It's about creating a table where everyone belongs.

Whether you choose chicken or tofu, I hope this recipe brings a little Mediterranean sunshine to your kitchen.

When my boys were little, I wasn't just feeding them.

I was creating a place to come home to.

The table was where we gathered, celebrated, laughed, listened, and belonged. Every meal was an opportunity to nourish not only their growing bodies, but also our connection as a family.

Today, science helps us understand what many parents have always known intuitively: how we are fed is just as important as what we are fed.

That is the heart of my newest Feature Article—Who Fed Us Matters: The Relationships That Taught Us How to Eat.

Who taught you how to eat?

Long before we understood calories, carbohydrates, or protein, we were learning something much more profound.

We learned whether the table felt safe.
Whether meals brought connection or conflict.
Whether food was comfort, control, celebration, scarcity, or survival.

Our relationship with food doesn't begin with nutrition. It begins with relationships.

In my newest Feature Article—Who Fed Us Matters: The Relationships That Taught Us How to Eat, I explore how our earliest feeding experiences continue to shape the way we nourish ourselves today—and why understanding our story is often the first step toward rewriting it.

There is something magical about paella.

It isn't just a meal—it's an experience. A pan placed in the center of the table. The aroma of saffron, garlic, and seafood mingling with the summer air. Conversations slowing down as everyone gathers to share not just food, but time together.

This seafood paella was one of the highlights from July's The Inner Table in Montauk.

One of my favorite parts of these dinners is that the recipes don't end there. After sharing them with my guests, I bring them to the larger WTFork community so you can recreate them in your own kitchen and make them part of your own table.

Because good food is meant to be shared.

We often think our relationship with food is about willpower, discipline, or simply knowing the "right" thing to eat.

But what if it's also about our relationship with safety?

For many of us, food became comfort, protection, control, celebration, distraction, or even survival long before we had the words to describe what we were experiencing.

That's why lasting change rarely begins with another meal plan. It begins with curiosity. With compassion. With asking not, "What's wrong with me?" but rather, "What happened to me, and how has that shaped the way I nourish myself?"

Understanding our relationship with food means understanding our relationship with ourselves.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to explore my recent Feature Articles, where I'm taking a deeper dive into the connection between our nervous system, nourishment, and lasting behavior change. This is just the beginning of the conversation, and there's much more to come.

**Simple ingredients. Big flavor. 💚**

These **Grilled Shish*to Peppers with Lemon & Flaky Sea Salt** prove that some of the most memorable dishes require very little.

A quick char over an open flame brings out their natural sweetness while adding a subtle smokiness. Finished with fresh lemon, extra virgin olive oil, and flaky sea salt, they're bright, vibrant, and completely irresistible.

One of my favorite parts of hosting **The Inner Table** is creating an entirely new seasonal menu each month. Every gathering inspires fresh recipes, meaningful conversation, and a reminder that some of life's best moments happen around the table.

After sharing these dishes with my dinner guests in Montauk, I love bringing the recipes to the larger **WTFork** community so you can recreate them in your own kitchen and share them with the people you love.

I hope these grilled shish*to peppers find a place on your table this summer.
