Sometimes it sounds more like:

“My stomach hurts.”
“I don't want to go.”
“What if no one sits with me?”
“I can't sleep.”
“Can you stay with me?”
“I hate school.”

A new school year brings a LOT of change, and even kids who are excited can feel overwhelmed by new teachers, routines, expectations and friendships.

A few ways you can help:

→ Keep routines predictable. Knowing what to expect can help school days feel a little less overwhelming.

→ Ask specific questions. Instead of “How was school?” try “What felt easy today?” or “Was there anything that made you nervous?”

→ Validate before you fix. Sometimes “That sounds really hard” is more helpful than immediately trying to solve the problem.

→ Practice the scary parts. Walk through drop-off, talk about what lunchtime might look like, or make a plan for what they can do when they feel nervous.

→ Pay attention when anxiety starts interfering with everyday life. If school worries are consistently affecting sleep, eating, relationships, physical symptoms or their ability to attend school, it may be time for some extra support.

And remember: the goal isn't to make sure your child never feels anxious.

It's to help them learn, “I can feel anxious AND I can handle what comes next.” 💛

That's a skill they'll carry far beyond the classroom.

August often brings a shift in routines, responsibilities, and expectations. As students head back to school, parents juggle new schedules, educators prepare for a fresh year, and many adults begin refocusing on goals after summer, it's a season of transition.

If things feel a little heavier than usual, you're not imagining it. Back-to-school season can bring excitement, anticipation, stress, and anxiety—all at the same time.

As you move into a new routine this month, remember to extend yourself the same grace you so freely give to others. And if you need a little extra support along the way, know that you don't have to navigate this season alone. 💙

✨ Celebrating growth, connection, and stronger families. ✨

A huge congratulations to the incredible families who graduated from our Family Strengthening Program! Over the past several weeks, these families intentionally invested in one another by building stronger communication, learning healthy coping skills, and creating deeper connections that will continue long after the program ended.

We're especially proud of our family who achieved perfect attendance. What an amazing example of commitment and showing up for one another!

Thank you to every family who trusted us to be part of your journey. Watching your growth has been an honor, and we can't wait to see all that lies ahead.

Here's to stronger families, brighter futures, and the courage to keep growing. 💙

Parenting has a way of bringing our own childhood to the surface.

Sometimes it's in the quiet moments.
Sometimes it's in the middle of a tantrum.
Sometimes it's realizing you're reacting in ways you never intended.

If that's you, you're not failing. You're becoming aware.

Healing while raising children can feel overwhelming, but it also creates an opportunity to break cycles, build healthier relationships, and show your children something powerful: that growth is possible at any age.

You don't have to have it all figured out to be a good parent. You just have to be willing to keep showing up, learning, repairing when needed, and giving yourself the same compassion you offer your family.

Healing doesn't happen overnight, and you don't have to heal alone.

Summer can quickly become a season of saying yes to everything—cookouts, vacations, extra commitments, favors, and plans you weren't even excited about.

But constantly saying yes can leave you feeling exhausted instead of refreshed.

Here's your reminder today:

No is a complete sentence.

You don't owe everyone an explanation. You don't have to earn rest. And protecting your mental health doesn't make you selfish—it helps you show up more fully for the people and things that matter most.

Boundaries aren't walls. They're healthy limits that allow you to thrive.

Summer often comes with an unspoken pressure to do it all.

Fill every weekend. Attend every gathering. Say yes to every invitation. Make every moment count.

But constantly saying "yes" to everyone else can leave very little room to say "yes" to yourself. If you're someone who struggles with people-pleasing, let this be your reminder that your worth isn't measured by how available you are.

This summer, don't just fill your calendar. Leave room for peace, too.
