“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11

To everyone that gave me encouragement, pushed me and checked in on me from time to time, I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I appreciate you all!

Didn’t always have good days, didnt always have great days but the finish line really is a beautiful place to be!

“Hey everyone my name is Cordele Jackson and I will be attending LMU DPT program this summer! I’m so excited for this opportunity and just excited to keep this journey to become a Physical Therapist still rolling! I graduated in 2018 from Letourneau University with my B.S. in Kinesiology and graduated in 2021 with my Masters in Health and Human Performance. I chose to become a Physical Therapist because I wanted to give back to the world in a way that I was passionate about and that is understanding the human body and the movements of the human body. However, my biggest inspiration and motivation to become a Physical Therapist is from the woman you see in this post. My grandma mother is the prime reason and passion of why I want to become a Physical Therapist and help everyone that I possibly can. I will graduate with the class of 2025 and pursue a career in Sports Physical Therapy possibly with mainly the youth and some college and professional athletes. I want to bring awareness to the youth of how important it is to take care of your body as well as have a long and lasting career in sports if they choose that route. I’m so happy to finally add to the black physical therapist percentage and work on boosting this 4% of black physical therapist to a higher percentage. Can’t wait to connect to more Physical Therapist!
P.S. - Fun fact I’m pretty decent in Archery 😁”

“My name is Emmanuel Pinillos, Doctor of Physical Therapy. Born and raised in America, but with ancestry tied to the island of Puerto Rico (mothers side) and the country Colombia (fathers side). My family came to America in hopes of the American dream. Through their tough work, sacrifice, and guidance, I worked hard in school to become a clinician. Although my journey has just begun, I am proud of the achievements I have a lot in this life.

Bachelors In Health Sciences from USF in 2010.

Did you know that women make up roughly 70% of the APTA members and about 74% of licensed PTs are women? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The first physical therapists in the United States were reconstruction aides, who were civilian women employees of the Medical Department of the US Army during World War I.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Mary McMillan was appointed the first reconstruction aide in February 1918 and organized the Physiotherapy Department at Walter Reed General Hospital. Of the original 18 Aides, 16 went on to form the American Women's Physical Therapeutic Association, which later became the American Physical Therapy Association with McMillan as president.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
