Turning 65? Your VA health care doesn't stop — and it can work alongside Medicare and TRICARE For Life (TFL) to give you more complete coverage. There's no enrollment fee for VA care, and VA never bills Medicare or TFL for the care you get here.

Keep in mind: your Medicare enrollment window is only 7 months — three before your birthday month, three after. Missing it can mean a lifelong Part B penalty. Confirm your VA health care benefits today by logging into your VA.gov account or calling 1-877-222-8387.

Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System invites Veterans, families, employees and community members to come together to honor the service and sacrifices of those who served in our nation’s armed forces.
📅 Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026
🕚 Parade begins at 11 a.m.
📍 Vetegee Field, 2400 Hospital Road, Tuskegee, Alabama
Chief Master Sgt. Mataya C. Williams will serve as the parade’s grand marshal.
Schools, groups, organizations and clubs are encouraged to participate! Entry options include floats, vehicles, marching and walking units, scouting and ROTC units, cheerleading squads, drum lines and flag teams.
Parade participants: Enter through the Franklin Road gate and check in at Vetegee Field. Participants must be in place for staging and lineup by 9 a.m. and will be directed to their assigned lineup areas.
To register: Complete the parade participation form and email it to [email protected] or return it to the Center for Development and Civic Engagement in Building 68 at the Tuskegee campus.

NORMAL OPERATIONS RESUME TUESDAY, OCT. 13

All CAVHCS sites will return to normal hours tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 13. This includes the Dothan, Fort Rucker and Monroeville clinics, which closed Friday because of Tropical Storm Isaias.

If you have an appointment scheduled for Tuesday, please attend as planned unless your care team has given you different instructions. If your appointment was canceled because of the storm, CAVHCS staff will contact you to arrange a new appointment date and time. For questions or help with rescheduling, call 855-679-0214.
