Some seasons are meant for answers. Others are meant for growth.

The people who leave the greatest impact on our lives are rarely the ones who always know what to say. More often, they’re the ones who make us feel heard. They don’t rush to solve every problem or fill every silence. They sit with us in uncertainty, ask one more question instead of offering one more opinion, and somehow make the weight we’re carrying feel lighter simply because we no longer have to carry it by ourselves.

Looking back, most of us can name someone like that. Not because they had all the answers, but because they gave us something even more valuable: the feeling that we were never alone while we searched for our own.

Always remember that you deserve the same love and care you so freely give to others. And you need it to keep showing up for them.

Most of us were never taught this... and it shows up in how we parent without even realizing it. 💜

We were raised in a culture that taught children to comply, to finish their plate even when they were full, to hug relatives even when they didn’t want to, to push through physical discomfort because someone else decided it was fine and to say yes when their body was screaming no.

And we absorbed the message that our bodies were not fully ours, that other people’s comfort mattered more than our own and that saying no, changing our mind, or setting a limit was rude, difficult, or something to be ashamed of.

Then we became parents and we get to choose what our children learn instead.

💫 Body autonomy is not just about keeping children safe from harm, though it absolutely does that, it’s about raising children who trust themselves, who listen to what their body tells them and who know that their comfort matters, that they get to decide what happens to them, and that the word “stop” is always enough.

And it starts in the smallest, most ordinary moments...

🫶🏼 Whether you ask before you hug them or just grab them.
🫶🏼 Whether you force the last few bites or trust that their body knows when it is full.
🫶🏼 Whether you let them take off the sweater or insist they keep it on.
🫶🏼 Whether you honor their “I changed my mind” or make them feel guilty for it.

✨ Every one of those moments is teaching your child something about who owns their body. Make sure what they are learning is that they do! ✨

Children who learn to listen to their bodies grow into adults who trust and protect them. That lesson starts with you, today, in the most ordinary moments.

Never allow a struggle to turn your sky into a ceiling. You must believe there's always a way.

A boundary is a test you don't have to design. Set it and watch. Respect means you're safe. Guilt trips and pushback mean you just got important information about who you're dealing with.
