What an incredible day supporting our Wayne County students! 🎒✨We were proud to team up area businesses and community partners this past Friday for a highly successful FREE Drive-Thru School Supply Giveaway! Together, we made sure local K-12 families are fully equipped and ready for the upcoming school year. At the DAAD Coalition, our mission is to protect and empower our youth. Alongside the essential school supplies, we were grateful to include life-saving harm reduction education resources and vital information about local outpatient support. Providing these tools helps us build a safer, healthier, and more informed community for our children to thrive in. 💪💙Thank you to all our dedicated community partners who rolled up their sleeves to make this event a success. We love our community! 🤝

An OK teen's recent overdose and death due to benedryl spotlights the newfound popularity of this TikTok challenge that began around 2020. It encourages teens to take excessive doses of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to trigger hallucinations. Experts warn of seizures, cardiac arrest, coma, and death. Parents are urged to discuss online safety and viral social media trends, as well as substance use and overall health and wellness. Today's youth need caring adults who can find a way to discuss important topics, even when it feels awkward and uncomfortable. NACoA helps by providing guidance for supportive, age-appropriate conversations about substances through NACoA’s Parents Guide: Talking to Kids and Teens about Alcohol and Other Substances. Remind them safe people are available to talk to before trying these kinds of challenges. https://nacoa.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/NACoAs-Parents-Guide.Talking-With-Kids.2025.pdf?fbclid=IwY2xjawS4vE5leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETFOeDFqOGQyWW9zR3pTRHhCc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIyMDM5MTc4ODIwMDg5MgABHg2vS-NLfFe9BfNLpROQDB72be9q7TbXYReDlSSkhbOzEKwks3rMWrDfpVAr_aem_eL_JFnyePBEpUH5-g0Zr-g
