Let’s get to know our associate doctor a little more 💚

Dr. Mary Beth Summitt graduated from Life University in 2026 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. She is board certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and has completed advanced training in the Webster Technique, Activator Method, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), advanced pediatric chiropractic care, and functional rehabilitation techniques. Throughout chiropractic school, Dr. Summitt was an active member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), where she developed a passion for caring for expecting mothers, infants, and children.

Dr. Summitt enjoys caring for patients of all ages, believing that every individual deserves the opportunity to live a healthy, active life. Athletes hold a special place in her heart after playing competitive softball for 16 years, giving her a deep appreciation for movement, recovery, and injury prevention. Her approach to chiropractic care focuses on identifying the root cause of a patient's concerns rather than simply treating symptoms. She believes the body functions best when the nervous system is working properly and strives to create personalized care plans that support long-term health and wellness. Patients can expect a warm welcome, a compassionate ear, and a doctor who truly takes the time to listen.

Dr. Summitt believes every patient deserves to feel heard, valued, and cared for. She is committed to creating a comfortable environment where patients feel confident in their care and empowered throughout their health journey.

Originally from Huntsville, Alabama, Dr. Summitt discovered her passion for chiropractic after receiving life-changing chiropractic care at the age of 15. Experiencing firsthand how chiropractic improved her health inspired her to pursue a career where she could make the same lasting impact on others. While completing her undergraduate studies, she worked in a chiropractic office and witnessed incredible transformations in patients' lives. She saw individuals living with chronic pain regain their mobility, infants struggling with colic become happy and thriving, and countless families experience the benefits of natural chiropractic care. Those experiences confirmed that chiropractic was exactly where she was meant to be.

Dr. Summitt is excited to begin serving patients at Heartland Clinic of Chiropractic, where she was drawn to the genuine compassion and patient-centered care that Dr. Johnston has cultivated. She is honored to join a practice where patients are truly valued and looks forward to helping individuals and families achieve their health goals through natural chiropractic care.

Dr. Summitt currently resides in Monticello, Georgia. She and her fiancé, Ty, are looking forward to their wedding in March 2027 and are excited to begin their next chapter together in the Covington area. Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends. She also loves visiting her Australian Shepherd, Maverick, who lives with her parents.
