Tonight’s sunset hike was incredibly grounding. 🌲
As we explored the trails, we learned about different birds, trees, and plants, but we also found ourselves connecting many of those lessons from nature to our own lives. One idea that stood out was how some trees grow quickly while others take decades to become strong and sturdy. The trees that spend more time developing deep roots often live longer and are better equipped to withstand challenges. It was a powerful reminder that growth doesn’t have to be rushed. Sometimes the work happening beneath the surface is what matters most.
We also talked about how trees can be knocked down by storms, fires, animals, or other obstacles, yet their roots often remain. Those roots allow new growth to emerge, even after difficult seasons. In many ways, we’re the same. Life can bring setbacks and unexpected challenges, but the foundations we build—our values, relationships, experiences, and resilience—help us begin again.
Before wrapping up the hike, we shared intentions for the week ahead. Some of the intentions included cultivating a more positive outlook, spending more time outdoors, prioritizing rest, and reducing screen time.
A huge thank you to Nate Beccue for being such an incredible guide and for sharing his knowledge of the natural world with us. We all learned so much and left feeling more connected—to nature, to each other, and to ourselves.
If you weren’t able to make it, no worries! We hope to see you next Sunday at KayBee Community Cafe at 1:00 PM for coffee and connection.
