Robert Norman Loftis Sr., 80, of Van Buren, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 12:10 p.m.

Born on July 13, 1945, in Marion, Indiana, he was the son of the late Edward and Inez Albertine Loftis. Robert retired from Dana Corporation in Marion after 30 years of dedicated service and was a longtime member of the United Auto Workers (UAW). He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post #95 in Jonesboro.

Robert enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, observing wildlife, and collecting arrowheads.

He is survived by his daughter, Tracey (Michael) Barley of Fort Wayne; son, Robert (Ann) Loftis Jr. of Van Buren; grandsons, Zachary (Maddison) Barley, Austin Loftis, Tristan Iser, Lucas (Sharon) Barley, and Kohl Loftis; granddaughters, Karlee (Brandon Adams) Maxey, Allison (Tracy Hathaway) Barley, and Britton Laypoole; brothers, John Loftis, Ben Loftis, and Mike Loftis; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lisa Louise Loftis; brothers, August, Gerald, Ivan, James, and Dale Loftis.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Ferguson & Glancy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main Street, Van Buren. A celebration of life service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dale W. Compton, 77, of Berne, Indiana, formerly of Bluffton and Fort Wayne, passed into the loving arms of Jesus at 12:33 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne.

Dale was born on March 21, 1949, in Bluffton, Indiana. He married the love of his life, Donna Compton, who survives.

A 1967 graduate of Bluffton High School, Dale enlisted in the United States Navy shortly after graduation while living in Yuma, Arizona. Following his military service, he built a career as a welder and machinist, working primarily for PHD in Fort Wayne.

Dale was a talented handyman and enjoyed riding motorcycles in his younger years. Throughout his life, he found great joy in hunting and fishing, but his greatest pleasure was sharing those passions with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered not only for his love of family, but as the dad he didn't have to be, yet chose to be.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Compton of Berne; daughters, Nicole Jackson of Greencastle, Andrea Kem of Lafayette, and Laura (Matt) Adams of Berne; son, Anthony (Nicole) Latham of New Haven; grandchildren, Kyler (Jessica) Adams, Keaton Adams, Zoe (Devon) Fitzsimmons, Ashley Jackson, and Mya Jackson; sister, Beverly Perry of Bluffton; brother, Ronald Bunyard of Yuma, Arizona; sister, Christine (Robert) Ball of Fort Wayne; several nieces and nephews; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Compton; his mother, Rose Spence; and his granddaughter, Krystal Benzinger.

Family and friends may gather to share memories and celebrate Dale's life from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Downing & Glancy Funeral Home, 100 N. Washington Street, Geneva, Indiana.

A funeral service celebrating Dale's life will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at the funeral home, with Pastor Clark Stoller officiating.

Johnny Wayne Williams, 65, of Geneva, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 4:44 PM.

Born on Thursday, October 27, 1960, in Galveston, Texas, Johnny married Skeeter Galloway Williams on November 29, 2014, in Geneva, Indiana.

Johnny worked as a truck driver for Venture in Hartford City, Indiana. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. A dedicated sports fan, he proudly supported the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys. He also served as a counselor at Cenikor in Baton Rouge, LA for ten years. Above all, Johnny cherished spending time with his family — especially taking his grandchildren for rides on the golf cart.

Survivors include his wife, Skeeter Galloway Williams of Geneva, IN Sons; Shilo Silas Shepherd of Berne, IN, Johnny Williams of Berne, IN. Daughters; Clarece Shepherd of Geneva, IN, Robyn (Jordan) Steele of Decatur, IN, Alina Fern Shepherd of Geneva, IN. Sisters; Cindy (Ronnie) Kettle of Decatur, TX, Vickie (Al) Garza of Baytown, TX, Nancy (Tim) Butler of Warrenton, MO.and Seven grandchildren.

David A. Spahr, age 87, a long time resident of Jefferson township, Huntington County, passed away at 10:15 A.M. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at Heritage Pointe of Warren, IN.

He was born on January 23, 1939 in Huntington County, the son of George and Vera (Schweikhardt) Spahr.

David graduated from Jefferson High School with the Class of 1957.

He married Wanda R. DeHaven in May 1957. Together they built a loving and faithful marriage of 69 years that included 3 children, 9 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

He worked at Riverside Service Station in Warren and 41 years at Fisher Body in Marion.

He was a member of Solid Rock Church.

Those that preceded in death include his parents, George and Vera Spahr and a great granddaughter, Charlotte.

Survivors include his wife Wanda, children Perry (Tamara) Spahr, Polly (Mike) Tribolet and Tom (Amy) Spahr. Grandchildren are Abby (Aaron) Bickel, Mariah (Kory) Pfister, Jessica (Bob) Morris, Clark (Dana) Spahr, Alison (AJ) Schemmer, Ethan (Chelsee) Tribolet, Natalie (Ashish) Dhingra, Gretchen (Josh) Pyper and Walker (Lauren) Spahr. There are 25 great grandchildren. Sister, Marcia Jackson. Brothers, Max (Lois) Spahr and Dan (Pam) Spahr.

She married Leonard "Gene” Spice on Saturday, May 2, 1959 in Fort Wayne, IN. Dorothy attended Geneva High School. She was a member of the New Beginning Faith Center in Decatur, IN. Dorothy was a homemaker and loved to vacation, go camping, watch birds, and above all cherished the times spent with her family.

He was born on Monday, August 25, 1969, in Henry Co., IN. Erin was a 1987 graduate of Blackford High School. He lived most of his early years in Blackford County. He worked for Jackson Canning Factory, Chem-Lawn, and retired after 30 years of service from the Muncie Sanitary District. As a child, Erin played ball at the Montpelier Little League. He enjoyed riding snow mobiles and 4 wheelers, visiting Gatlinburg, and spending time with his family. Erin was known as being the responsible person in the family.

Marjorie L. Houser, age 86, of rural Montpelier, IN, passed away at 10:20 PM on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at IU Health-Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. She was born on Saturday, September 9, 1939, in Anderson, IN. Marjorie attended Madison Heights High School in Anderson, IN. She worked at Pierce Governor Co. in Upland,from 1976 until 1990. Marjorie owned and operated a video store in Van Buren for several years. She enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers and anything with Elvis. She loved rescuing cats and dogs and watching game shows.

Marjorie will be sadly missed by her Daughter - Connie L. June Miller, age 83, of Bluffton, IN, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on Saturday, July 25, 1942, in Marion, IN. She married Dewey Miller on Friday, May 25, 1962 in Bluffton, Indiana. June was a 1960 graduate of Bluffton High School. She retired from Peyton’s Northern in Bluffton. June was a member of Lancaster Chapel Church and a former member of Olive Branch Church of the Nazarene in Hartford City. She loved her family and spending time with them.

June will be forever missed by her husband of 64 years, Rev. Dewey Miller, Bluffton, IN, son, Rev.
