Let’s celebrate Vermont’s direct support professionals! In honor of National Direct Support Professionals Week, we’re gathering to thank the people whose care, skill, and heart make Vermont stronger every day.

When our staff learn, our community benefits! 🚓💚

Our Police Social Work (PSW) team recently attended the 5th Annual PSW Conference in New Haven, Connecticut, where professionals from across the country came together to share ideas, research, and practical strategies for supporting people experiencing mental health challenges, substance use concerns, homelessness, and other complex situations.

New knowledge and fresh perspectives help our team continue strengthening partnerships with local law enforcement and connecting community members to the care and resources they need, when they need them most.

Congratulations NKHS!

Big news for the Northeast Kingdom!

NKHS has officially received certification as a Certified Community-Based Integrated Health Center (CCBHC) — and we couldn't be more proud to share what this means for our community.

As one of only six designated agencies in Vermont to earn this designation, NKHS can now offer even more coordinated, whole-person care — all under one roof. That means:
• 24/7 crisis care
• Care coordination
• Peer support
• Veteran services
• Health screenings
• Expanded Hours

These services are available to everyone — regardless of age, insurance status, or ability to pay. A sliding-fee scale ensures no one in our community is ever turned away.

This milestone is the result of years of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the people of the Northeast Kingdom. We are so grateful for the support of our staff, our community, and the Vermont Department of Mental Health in making this possible.
