In Loving Memory of Mr. Alfred Lee Gabriel
Mr. Alfred Lee Gabriel, of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 30, 2025.
Born to the late Rufus and Sarah Gabriel, Alfred was educated in the Mecklenburg County School System. He grew up embraced by family, community, and love—values that guided the life he lived and the relationships he cherished.
Alfred was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sherry Derr Gabriel. He was a devoted father to his son, Nykine Kewaun Houston, who brought him immense pride and joy.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and remembrance in the hearts of his sisters, Sarah Jane Thompson (Wardell) and Wanda Gabriel; brothers, Phillip Gabriel, Spencer Gabriel, and Charles Gabriel (Kaye); niece, Portia Thompson; nephews, Shawan Gabriel (Keisha), Richard Thompson, Charles McAfee (Laura), Josh Thompson (Ivanova), and Adrian McAfee; as well as his aunts, Vera Robertson, Hazline Robinson, and Ann Robinson.
