Be quick to listen. Slow to speak. Slow to anger.
What a revolutionary way to live.
I closed my class with this scripture today, because it’s so relevant to my personal life. I’ve started to study hyperreactivity, within myself and within evidence based literature.
Emotional hyperreactivity is when a person experiences emotional reactions that are out of proportion to the situation they are in. It is a symptom of C-PTSD and I never heard of it until I started seeing a black, female general practitioner.
Emotional hyperreactivity can be unlearned in multiple ways but the path starts with noticing. Awareness is only possible in silence when an individual is willing to listen.
Be quick to listen. Slow to speak. Slow to anger. Absolute wisdom.
