September 15–October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month!

Our team was proud to be part of this year’s Rochester Latino Fest and celebrate alongside our community. A big thank you to the Latino Fest Committee and ACHLA for all their hard work in making this event such a wonderful celebration for the Rochester community.

Last Friday, team members from across our different CHSI clinics came together to participate in the Greater Moorhead Days Parade! 🎉

CHSI loves being part of this event every year and having the opportunity to connect with our community, meet our neighbors, and share information about the services and resources we have to offer.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, waved, and celebrated with us! We’re grateful to be a part of the communities we serve. 💙

We’re sharing this important update from the Minnesota Department of Human Services to help keep our patients and community informed. If you receive Medical Assistance, we encourage you to review the information and learn whether these upcoming changes may apply to you.

UPDATE: The online tool will be available through Sept. 30, an additional month beyond the original Aug. 31 cutoff.

People with Medical Assistance can find out now if they will need to meet 2027 federal work reporting requirements passed in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act with a new tool from the Minnesota Department of Human Services. The tool is available through Sept. 30.

Starting Jan. 1, 2027, some adults may need to meet new work requirements to get or keep Medical Assistance health insurance. This change generally applies to adults ages 21 to 64 who do not have dependent children, are not pregnant, are not eligible for Medicare, and do not qualify for Medical Assistance based on a disability. Medical Assistance is Minnesota’s Medicaid program.

🏳️‍🌈 This past weekend, we attended Moorhead Fargo Pride!

Our Outreach Team enjoyed spending the day out in the community, connecting with people, answering questions, and sharing more about CHSI and the resources available to those we serve. Events like this give us a great opportunity to meet people where they are and build connections outside of our clinic walls.

Today, as we celebrate Population Focus Day during National Health Center Week, we’re reflecting on how far we’ve come—and the mission that has never changed.

CHSI was founded to serve migrant and seasonal farmworkers, meeting people where they were and ensuring access to care for those who needed it most. While our reach has grown over the years, our purpose remains the same: to meet our communities where they are, no matter who they are.

Today, we’re proud to care for individuals and families from all walks of life through medical, dental, behavioral health, psychiatric care, victim advocacy, outreach, food access, and more. As our communities continue to grow and change, so will we.

We look forward to the future with the same commitment we’ve always had—to expand access, remove barriers, and ensure everyone has the opportunity to receive the care they deserve.

Today, we’re celebrating Staff Appreciation Day, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible people who make Community Health Service Inc. what it is.

From our medical, dental, and behavioral health teams to outreach, administration, and victim advocacy services, every department plays a vital role in caring for our communities. Together, our staff lead with compassion, dedication, and a shared commitment to the health center mission—ensuring every person who walks through our doors has access to quality, affordable care.
