𝗢𝗡𝗘 𝗬𝗘𝗔𝗥. 🤍
Hey everyone! I’m Sheena, founder of Illuminé Skin & Wellness.
I wanted to share a little about how we got here... because sometimes the moments that feel like setbacks are actually the beginning of something so much bigger.
Four years ago, after spending 17 years as an esthetician at a luxury hotel spa, I applied for a leadership position. I was told they wanted me to “step into the role” unpaid for an undetermined amount of time before deciding if I was capable.
That was the moment I realized I had outgrown the place that had helped shape my career.
Around that same time, a friend who did hair from home said, “𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲?” So I did.
I transformed part of my living room into a tiny spa with wooden dividers, creating a little space where I could do what I loved. What surprised me most wasn’t just how much I loved skincare, it was how much I loved creating an experience.
Designing a space. Choosing every detail. Making people feel like they’d escaped somewhere special.
Within six months, my books were full, and I opened my first studio. Then clients started asking... “𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲?”
That question planted another seed.
What if I created the kind of spa I had always wished existed? A boutique luxury spa where every treatment was exceptional, every detail was intentional, and every team member was chosen because they truly excelled at what they do.
One year ago today, Illuminé Skin & Wellness opened its doors.
Today, I look around at the incredible team we’ve built, the guests who trust us, and the community that has embraced us, and I’m honestly overwhelmed with gratitude. The dream team I hoped for turned out to be real life.
To every client who’s trusted us, supported us, referred a friend, left a review, or simply walked through our doors...
