September is a time to raise awareness, break the stigma surrounding mental health and remind those around us that they are never alone.

At the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, we know that sometimes a simple conversation can make a difference. Take the time to check on your friends, family members, coworkers and neighbors. Ask how they are doing, listen without judgment and let them know that you care.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out for help. There is no shame in asking for support and you do not have to face difficult moments alone.
