Introducing Jolene and Madison! Orthopedic Techs at WVU Medicine in Morgantown, WV!
Jolene and Madison have been an integral part of healthcare teams for years before finding their way to WVU Medicine. Jolene, a Somerset, PA native, first started her healthcare career in the Pittsburgh area where she treated patients for 25 years before making the shift to Orthopedic Technology at WVU Medicine. Madison, on the other hand, came to Morgantown from Wister, Massachusetts, where she worked as a Medical Assistant for 5 years before making the move to West Virginia and finding her place within our Orthopedic Technologist team! They both share a love for patient care, and the ability to work with an outstanding team that constantly pushes them to learn more in a dynamic healthcare environment. We appreciate all their hard work, and thank them for the contribution they make to WVU Medicine every day!
Orthopedic Technicians work alongside healthcare providers to perform a variety of orthopedic care procedures such as cast/splint applications, and removal of casts and sutures/staples. They also work one-on-one with patients to take vitals, manage patient history, and assist in minor medical procedures. If you’re currently working as an Ambulatory Care Assistant or Medical Assistant, making the shift to Ortho Tech might be the right shift for you! At WVU Medicine, we value career growth and the opportunity for our employees to advance in their field. Our Ortho Tech’s train ACA and MA’s one-on-one to learn more advanced procedures and move up in the healthcare field.
