Transitions can be tough, especially when it’s time to stop something your child is enjoying.

Try giving them a little warning before it’s time to move on. ⏰ A simple countdown like “5 more minutes,” “2 more minutes,” and “1 more minute” can help make the transition more predictable.

Give it a try next time you’re getting ready to move on to something new!

Maddy has a special way of bringing warmth, kindness, and positivity to everyone around her. Her gentle nature, compassionate heart, and genuine love for helping others shine through in everything she does. Whether she's offering a comforting smile, lending a helping hand, or celebrating a learner's progress, Maddy approaches every moment with patience, grace, and so much care.

With over 7 years of experience working with learners with special needs, Maddy has continued to grow and develop her skills in the field of ABA, becoming a remarkable RBT along the way! One of the things she values most is building meaningful connections and earning the trust of her learners. Her dedication to creating a safe, supportive, and loving environment makes such a difference in the lives of our kiddos each and every day. ✨

Outside of UABL, Maddy enjoys expressing her creative side through art and baking, spending time outdoors hiking, and getting lost in a good book. 🎨🧁📚

Maddy, thank you for the love, compassion, and positivity you bring to our clinic. 🎉 Happy Birthday to our incredible founder, Ms. Jamie!! 🎉

Today we're celebrating the woman who started it all, the heart and vision behind Unlocking Abilities, and the reason we get to do what we love every single day — Ms. Jamie! 💙

Where do we even begin?! There truly would be no Unlocking Abilities without her. What started as a passion for helping children and providing in-home ABA services quickly grew into a vision for something bigger. Jamie recognized a need within our community and had the courage, determination, and heart to turn that vision into a reality. What began as a small clinic has grown into something truly special, and today, we have a beautiful new building to call home. 🏡

Jamie has an incredible ability to make the impossible possible. She's a dreamer, a go-getter, and a visionary who doesn't just imagine what could be — she makes it happen! Every new idea, every milestone, and every step forward is a reflection of the passion and hard work she pours into UABL. And if you know Jamie, you know she's never done dreaming up ways to make it even better!

But what makes Jamie such an extraordinary leader isn't just what she's built — it's the way she leads with her heart. She has created so much more than a therapy clinic. She's built a place where children are loved, supported, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential, where families feel understood, and where therapists are empowered to learn, grow, and become the best versions of themselves.

Independence doesn’t have to mean doing everything on their own. 💛
Small opportunities throughout the day can help children practice doing things for themselves, like choosing between two options, helping with simple tasks, putting away their belongings, or trying something before asking for help.
The goal isn't perfection. It's giving children opportunities to participate, try, and build independence at their own pace.
