Timothy Paul Jones, lovingly known as "Pappy" to his family, passed away at home on
May 31, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on September 10, 1953, in Philipsburg, PA, he was the
son of George R. and Irene (Holobinko) Jones. Tim lived a life rooted in a strong work ethic. He
worked first as a union coal miner for Local 1520 at Ruston Mine, then as a road construction
worker, and lastly retired from West Branch Area School District from custodial services.
Tim is survived by his beloved wife, Dayna (Hurley) Jones; their sons, Aaron (Ashlee)
Jones and Lance (Carrie) Jones; their daughter-in-law, Chelsea Jones; and their cherished
grandsons, Lincoln and Benjamin Jones. He is also survived by mother-in-law Shirley J. Hurley,
brothers David and Edward, sisters Cathy and Diane, and nieces and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, George Jones Jr.; his infant
daughter, Kara Lee Jones; his granddaughter; Reese Lynn Jones; his son, Ryan Michael Jones;
and his father-in-law, William “Bill” Hurley.
Tim was a man who found happiness in the simple things in life. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, riding ATVs, and exploring in his Jeep. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Tim was well known as someone you could count on. Above all else, Tim was devoted to his
family. He took great pride in those he loved, including his loyal dog Libby. Tim will be
remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, and steady presence. The love he shared, the
lessons he taught, and the memories he created will remain in the hearts of his family and
friends for years to come.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the immediate family. In lieu of

Gary Clark Hubler, 74, of Morrisdale passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2026 at home from
ALS.
He was born June 24, 1951 in Philipsburg to Clark and Ruth (Schnarrs) Hubler, and lived his
entire life in the Allport/Morrisdale area.
Following graduation from West Branch Area High School in 1969, Gary attended
Lees-McRae College where he played football. He later transferred to Lock Haven University
and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education in 1974. Gary worked
at West Branch High School for 30 years and was an inspiration as a teacher, the Dean of
Students, and Athletic Director. Along with teaching, Gary coached numerous sports with his
primary passion being football. He coached football at Philipsburg-Osceola and Millersville
University. As the West Branch head football coach, Gary experienced many successful
seasons, alongside winning the 1988 PIAA District Championship. Gary was inducted into the
Central Pennsylvania Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2005. He ended his coaching career at
West Branch High School as an assistant under his son, Kevin.
After retirement, he worked at University Park Airport and in maintenance at Gethsemane
United Methodist Church. Gary enjoyed taking his grandchildren fishing, attending their sporting
events and school activities, and family beach trips.
Gary is survived by his wife Kimberly (Latimer); his children, Dr. Kyle (Jennifer) Hubler of
Montoursville, Bethany (Ryan) Briskar of Clearfield, and Kevin (Kelley) Hubler of Morrisdale; two
step-daughters, Megan (James) Price of Mahaffey and Rachel (Lisa Rhodes) Struble of Virginia;
ten grandchildren, Grant, Ansley, Will and Mady Hubler, Griffin, Everleigh and Carrigan Briskar,
Brooklynn, Colin and Jacob Price; his siblings, Sharron (John) Eisenhauer of Ashland, Linda
(Robert) Bressler of Morrisdale, Ted (MaryJo) Hubler of Philipsburg, and Penny (James) Carlson
of State College; numerous nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Madalyn White Hubler.
A memorial service will be held June 6, 2026 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Julia Piper at
Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Allport. Family and friends will be received at 10 a.m.
until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to
Gethsemane United Methodist Church, PO Box 185, 369 Allport Cutoff, Allport, PA 16821 or
West Branch Football Boosters, 356 Allport Cutoff, Morrisdale, PA 16858.

Justin Lee Hudish

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Justin Lee Hudish, age 31, of Grassflat, who passed away on May 7, 2026.

Justin was born on April 7, 1995, and spent his life surrounded by the love of his family, friends, and loyal companion, Hemi the dog.

Justin was a free spirit who truly enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved spending his days fishing, camping, kayaking down the river, riding his bikes, and making memories with those he cared about most. Whether he was outdoors enjoying nature or gathered with family and friends sharing laughs and stories, Justin brought warmth, humor, and kindness wherever he went.

His family includes his mother, Mary Sue (Doren) Hudish; his father, Mark Allen Hudish; his older brother, Cody Hudish and his fiancée Hannah Peters; his sister, Crystal Baugh and her husband, Curtis Baugh; his niece Chloey and nephews Casey, Landon and Anthony. He also leaves behind many extended family members, countless friends, and his beloved best friend, who will all miss him dearly.

Justin will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, caring heart, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. Though his time here was far too short, the memories he created and the love he shared will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Justin’s life and honor the memories he leaves behind for a celebration of life, to be announced at a later date.

John (Buddy) Wrye

John (Buddy) Wrye, age 91 of West Decatur, passed away on May 10, 2026

Born March 6, 1935, in Frenchville, he was the son of the late Wharton and Charlotte (Viard) Wrye.

Buddy married Mary Jane (Weaver) Wrye on March 25, 1958. He was a 1953 graduate of Morris Township High School.

He was a life-long member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale; a life-time member of the Philipsburg Elks; and an honorary member of the Knights of Colombus.

He served on active duty in the U.S. Army. He was employed by the International Union of Engineers, Local Union #66.

He was an avid sports fan, outdoorsman, and athlete. He played minor league baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates before being drafted in the U.S. Army. He not only loved to play baseball, but he also coached men’s softball teams in the West Branch Area Men’s Softball League, as well as minor and teener teams in the Philipsburg Little League.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years and three children, Mark of West Decatur; Beth and her husband Ben of Felton, Delaware; and Scott and his wife Dana of Osceola Mills.

He is lovingly known as “Pap” by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandchildren are Cody Wrye and his wife Anne of Philipsburg; Cacie Jo Wrye of Pittsburgh; Tyler Burns and his wife Ashley of Felton, Delaware; Colton Wrye and his wife Brittany of Philipsburg.

Great-grandchildren are Chase Burns of Felton, Delaware; Isaac, Daxton, and Ava Wrye of Philipsburg.

Step grandchildren are Tyler Shimmel of Pittsburgh and Nathan Burns of Philipsburg.

Step-great-grandchildren are Everleigh Rooney of Philipsburg and Savannah Oakey of Felton, Delaware.

Also surviving is his sister, Nancy (Wrye) Swales and her husband David of Manasses, Virginia.

Family and friends will be received at Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, from 9-10:45 AM with mass immediately following at 11:00 AM at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale with Father Cory Pius as celebrant.

He will be laid to rest at the St. Agnes Roman Catholic Cemetery, Morrisdale.

Donna M. Sones

Donna M. Sones, age 89, of Morrisdale, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 19, 1937, in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Densham) Price.

On September 17, 1955, at Kylertown United Methodist Church, she wed Stanley E. Sones, and after 70 loving years of marriage, survives at home.

Also surviving are their children, Deborah Sones and partner Scott Bumbarger; Denise Cherry and husband Don; Douglas Sones and wife Kimberly; their grandchildren: Shannon Hudish (John Diebel); Bethany Hudish; Emily McCracken (Dan); Creighton Sones (Jillian); and Delaney Cherry; six great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

Donna was the last of her generation, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Smeal, Grace Turner and Marian Hubler.

Donna was a 1955 graduate of Morris Township High School, Morrisdale. She worked at Central Intermediate Unit as a classroom aide with special needs children for thirty-seven years of service until her retirement in 1999. She loved taking care of family and spending quality time with them. She also loved camping, ceramics, looking at cookbooks and doing find-a-word books.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Allport from 10:00 AM until the time for a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Julia Piper officiating.

She was laid to rest in Allport Cemetery, Allport.

Glenn R. MacTavish Sr.

Glenn R. MacTavish Sr, age 78, of Morrisdale went to be with his Lord on April 29, 2026. He was reunited with his wife and love of his life Joanna MacTavish. Glenn was born on December 23, 1947, to Walter and Eunice (Moore) MacTavish.

Glenn was a member of the Victory Church. Throughout his life, he coached Kylertown Little League, where many of the kids remember riding to games in the bed of his green Chevy pickup truck. He was also a youth leader at Fairview United Methodist Church.

Glenn was an electrician, mechanic, and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. He retired from Appalachian Wood Products. Glenn also worked many years for Paul R. Gable & Sons and Tafco Inc.

Glenn’s legacy is his family here on earth: son Glenn R. MacTavish Jr. and wife Stephanie of Morrisdale, daughter Crystal Owens and husband Mike, also of Morrisdale. His grandchildren Kayleigh Carns and husband Devin, Kamryn MacTavish, Mackenzie MacTavish, Michael Owens III and wife Ashley, Brandi Spackman and husband Eli. His great-grandchildren Elijah, Bristol, James, and John Owens, Ryleigh, Kinsleigh, and Mayleigh Spackman.

Glenn is also survived by brother Terry MacTavish and wife Connie, and two cousins with whom he was very close and considered brothers; William McTavish and wife Gloria, James McTavish and wife Charlie. Glenn also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.

Those who were awaiting him in heaven include his wife Joanna (Hubler) MacTavish, his parents, his brother Walter (Little Walter) MacTavish, and granddaughter Britani Owens.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Victory Church at 236 Scott Lane Philipsburg PA 16866 (note address change of church location) on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 4pm. Meal immediately to follow at the church.

Arthur C. Smith

Arthur C. Smith, 82, of Morrisdale entered away into eternal rest on April 28, 2026.

He was born on July 15, 1943, the son of Alfred and Gertrude Helen (Walker) Smith.

Art was a man of deep faith in Christ whose life reflected his love for God and his devotion to his family. Art loved his family beyond words and lived a life marked by strength, faith, hard work, and grace. He was the Regional Manager of Mansun Charter and Bus Company for 29 years, and later the CEO and owner of Arthur Smith Trucking as well as the owner of Oak Grove Motorsports. In retirement Art delivered flowers for Bust Bud’s Flowers and Gifts in Kylertown, where he had a passion for spreading his joy and reflecting his God centered character on all. He found joy in dirt track racing, farming, and gardening. He carried a steady love for the simple blessings God placed in his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Norma J. (Richards) Smith, whom he wed, on March 27, 1965, in Lanse. He was a devoted father to two children, Rhonda K. (Smith) Burnisky and her husband Graylon, and Kathie J. (Smith) Cleveland and her husband Leopold III. He was a cherished grandfather to Dustin Burnisky and his wife Heather, Benjamin Burnisky and his wife Sapphire, Kaysie (Cleveland) Smith and her husband Justin, Luke Burnisky and his wife Miranda, and Leo IV Cleveland and his wife Heidi. He was blessed with his great-grandchildren Claire, Raylan, and Lewis Arthur Burnisky, Owen, Jett, and Kora Smith, Ella Rae Burnisky, Granger and Ivy Burnisky, Leo Cleveland V, and a baby boy Burnisky due in June 2026.

Art is survived by his sister Deborah Lumadue, and sisters-in law Nancy Smith and Cathy Pienta. He was preceded in death by his siblings Joella James Mock, Janet Willis Kerfoot, Jerry “Butch” Smith, Madeline Don Cartwright, Jack Smith, Barry Wanda Smith, and Ted Pienta.

Art will be remembered as a man of faith, devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a hardworking man who left a lasting legacy through the life he lived and the love he gave. Though he will be deeply missed, his family takes comfort in knowing he is now resting in the presence of the Lord.

Rosella Kay Quick, age 58, of Philipsburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Penn Highlands DuBois.

Born November 24, 1967, in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Bertha Jane (Gallaher) Quick.

Surviving are her children, Becky Jane Quick and partner, Matt Hazel, and their children, Kadence, Nolan, Arielle; Misti Quick and her son, Lyam Smith; her siblings, Robin Smeal and her late husband Leslie, Morrisdale; Jessie Quick and partner, Debra Buck, Clearfield; the late Patrick Quick and wife Lori of Allport; Elwood Quick and wife Vicki, Kylertown; Rebecca Yurky and husband, Jim, Philipsburg; Geraldine Simpson, Pittsburgh; Larry Quick and wife Kristin, Morrisdale; John Quick, Morrisdale, Dennis Quick, Franklin; plus many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, her brother, Patrick, and brother-in-in-law, Leslie Smeal, she was also preceded in death by two more brothers, Clifford F. Quick and Robert L. Quick.

“Rose” enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved cats and anything cats, country music, arts and crafts.

Samuel “Sam” Lee Gallaher

Samuel went home into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2026. He was born on April 10, 1956, in Philipsburg to the late Andrew and Ruth (Myers) Gallaher. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Kathy Wilson, Jean Rothrock and his brother, Denny Gallaher.

“Sam” never met a stranger and could make a friend wherever he went. He was known for his storytelling and quick sense of humor and had a special way of lighting up any room and bringing joy to those around him. He was aways ready with a story, a joke, or a song.

He had a deep love for the outdoors and truly enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved music and spent most of his life playing in his bands, “Country Hobos; Full House; Sally’s Bottom and most recently, Matt in the Hat and Sam I Am Acoustic Duo.”

“Sam” was a gifted song writer and talented musician, well known and loved in his community and throughout Central PA.

“Sam” was also a devoted fan of Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers Football and rarely missed a chance to cheer for his teams.

More than anything, he loved his family and friends dearly. He had a way of making people feel welcome, and his presence, laughter, and love will be deeply missed.

Surviving are his loving companion of twenty-two years, Linda Williams, who survives at home; his daughters, Crystal Lee Archie and husband Michael, Nashville, TN; Dana Lee Winfree and husband Wade, Lebanon, TN; his grandchildren, Jasmine and husband Jack (Archie) Boyd, Michael, Jr. and wife Page Archie; Getu Archie, Jayla Archie, Malika Archie, Josiah Chea, Ava Chea and, Ellie Winfree; his sisters, Edie Coleman and companion Paul, Pittsburgh, Kim Litz, Clearfield; his brother, Dan Gallaher, Philipsburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda Sue Fenush

Linda Sue Fenush, age 72 of Grassflat, surrounded by her loving family, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2026, at her residence.

Born August 14, 1953, in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Carolyn (Jeneski) Sabol.

On November 4, 1972, at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Morrisdale, she wed Paul “Sonny” Fenush, who was the love of her life of 53 years.

Surviving are their children, Paul T. Fenush and fiancé Veronica Paugh, Seven Valleys; Erin M. Swatsworth and companion Jason Rankin, LeContes Mills; Jamie L. Mahute and husband Josh, Bellwood; their grandchildren, Brooke and Nathan Fenush, Tate Marie Swatsworth; Hailey Evans; her brothers, William “Bill” Sabol and wife Gail, Morrisdale, and Brian Sabol and wife Leslie, Sandy Ridge; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Grassflat and the Jednota Lodge #333. She was a 1971 graduate of West Branch Area High School, Allport and a 1972 graduate of Centre County Vo-Tech, Bellfonte as an LPN. She was a member of Loyal Order of Moose, Grassflat, Lodge #941. She enjoyed country line dancing, riding Harley, walking, but most of all spending time with her family, grandchildren and the family farm. Linda was a special person and will be greatly missed, but not forgotten, by all who knew her.

A special thank-you to Holly and Lacey from 365 Hospice and to all who cared for our wife, mother, grandmother.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, from 3-5 and 6-8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat and again on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, at the funeral home.

Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Grassflat, with Father Michael Pleva as celebrant.

She will be laid to rest in Ss. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Cemetery, Grassflat.
