Play can be a child’s way of communicating. 🧡
Children don’t always have the words to explain what they are feeling or experiencing. Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) uses play (a natural form of expression for children) within a safe, supportive therapeutic relationship.
In CCPT, the child is given the opportunity to lead the play while a trained therapist provides consistency, empathy, and acceptance. Through play, children can explore emotions and experiences that may be difficult to express with words.
At NJPNI, Avrohom Blesofsky, LCSW, CCPT, specializes in Child-Centered Play Therapy and supports children experiencing concerns such as anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, behavioral concerns, and trauma-related needs.
For some children, play can create a meaningful space to express themselves, process experiences, build skills, and feel understood.
Because sometimes the most meaningful communication doesn’t begin with words. 🧩
