Toy Story came out when I was 7 years old, and tonight, nearly three decades later, I’m sitting in an IMAX theater sharing it with my little Eric.

For one night, the emails, charts, phone calls, and endless to-do lists can all take a seat in the back row.

Tonight belongs to a cowboy, a space ranger, and a dad who still tears up at a movie about friendship and reliving my own childhood.

Well… my hair is an absolute disaster in this photo. 😂 But honestly? This is what many of our patients see during their visits.

Not a perfectly polished healthcare provider in a suit. Not someone rushing through a checklist. Not someone staring at a computer screen while you’re talking.

Just me. Sitting down. Listening. Caring. Actually giving a f**k.

The number one thing I hear after a patient’s first appointment is: “I finally feel heard.”

That breaks my heart every single time because feeling heard shouldn’t be a luxury in healthcare.

So many people come to us after years of being dismissed, told their symptoms are “normal,” or made to feel like they’re overreacting.

At FemmeCare, we may not always have every answer on day one. But I promise you this: we will listen. We will believe you. We will take your concerns seriously. And we will give a damn.

Because sometimes hope starts the moment someone finally says, “Tell me what’s been going on,” and actually waits for the answer.
