Pullman Regional Hospital and Inland Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Clinic are expanding access to sports medicine through a new team member, Sports Medicine Physician Michael Osterholt, MD.
Dr. Osterholt will see patients for Sports Medicine-related injury diagnosis and treatment at Inland Orthopaedics of Pullman and student-athletes on the Palouse. He works with patients and athletes of all ages and abilities. He also joins Washington State University Athletics as a team physician, caring for student-athletes on campus, at the request of athletic trainers and during games.
Dr. Osterholt is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He has experience working with athletes at a variety of levels including University of Nebraska student-athletes, Creighton University student-athletes, team physician for the College World Series, Omaha Lancers USHL Hockey Team, and Rapid City Youth Boxing.
Dr. Osterholt likes the Sports Medicine field because he enjoys fixing problems and injuries. He wants his patients to know that his goal is to get down to the crux of their problem and be realistic and supportive about how they can get better through personalized care plan development. “I truly enjoy sports medicine because I have the opportunity to help people across all activity levels stay active and functional and continue to do the things they love,” says Dr. Osterholt.
