☀️🐾 Summer reminder for all dog parents… heat stroke in dogs can happen FAST.

As temperatures rise, please keep a close eye on your pups! Dogs can overheat much quicker than we realize, especially during walks, outdoor play, or being outside too long.

☀️ Hot pavement can burn your pet’s paws! ☀️

As temperatures rise, pavement and asphalt can become dangerously hot for your pet’s paws. Here are some important tips to help keep your furry friends safe this summer:
🐾 Try the 7-Second Test: Place the back of your hand on the pavement for 7 seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them.
🐾 Walk during cooler times like early morning or evening.
🐾 Stick to grass or shaded areas when possible.
🐾 Use booties or paw wax for extra protection.
⚠️ Watch for signs of burned paws:
• Limping
• Licking paws
• Redness or blisters
If paws become burned, rinse with cool water and contact your veterinarian.
Keep your pets safe this summer! 🐶🐾

Happy June! ☀️

Summer is here, and we know many of us love bringing our furry friends along for the adventure!

Traveling with your pets can be a lot of fun — especially when you’re prepared ahead of time.

Here are a few helpful reminders before hitting the road with your four-legged companion:

🐾 Refill any medications needed for travel
(prescriptions, motion sickness meds, anxiety medications, etc.)
🐾 Pack travel bowls for food and water
🐾 Bring leashes, collars, harnesses, and ID tags
🐾 Don’t forget kennels or crates
🐾 Keep a pet first aid kit handy
🐾 Pack plenty of doggie bags
🐾 Bring favorite toys or chew toys for comfort and entertainment

Be sure to plan your trip ahead of time and keep the weather in mind. Allow extra time for frequent potty breaks, walks, and chances for your pet to stretch and stay comfortable during travel.
Safe travels and enjoy your summer adventures! 🐶🐱
