✨Therapy Success✨

Mr. Lopez came to Shady Oak following a hospitalization and several procedures that left him with increased weakness, balance difficulties, and a greater need for assistance with daily activities.
With a goal of returning home to his wife, Mr. Lopez worked hard with our PT and OT teams to build strength, improve endurance and safety, and regain independence with daily tasks.
We are so proud of his progress! He met his goals and was able to return home earlier this week. 🎉
We’re thankful Mr. Lopez chose Shady Oak for his nursing and rehabilitation needs and wish him all the best at home! 💚

✨Therapy Success✨

Mrs. Johnson came to Shady Oak following back surgery with pain, precautions, decreased strength and endurance, limited mobility, and a greater need for assistance with daily activities.

Having experienced successful rehab at Shady Oak in the past, Mrs. Johnson knew exactly where she wanted to return for her recovery. She came in determined, set meaningful goals with her therapy team, and worked hard with both PT and OT each day to reach them.

And today, she walked right out our front door and headed home with her family! 🏡✨

We are so grateful Mrs. Johnson chose Shady Oak for her rehabilitation and nursing needs once again. While we hope it’s a long while before we see her back in our halls, she knows that Shady Oak will always be here for her. 💚🤍

2026 Dog Days of Summer Contest! 🐕
We would like to extend our gratitude to all participants in today's contest, which saw a great turnout. The event featured 4 different categories, 1 grand champion, and 11 participating dogs, all centered around this year's Patriotic theme.
❤️🤍💙 We appreciate the time and effort of our judges: Julia Machart from Advanced Home Health, Maria Hermes from Hospice of South Texas, and Kelly Sobotik from Crown Hospice. We are also grateful for the support of Crown Hospice, who sponsored the ice cream for our event. Additionally, we thank Hospice of South Texas for donating the ice cream toppings and Advanced Home Health for providing the dog treat bags. Our appreciation extends to everyone involved in making this event possible. Below 👇 are pictures of the winners and all who participated. Till next year!

We are thrilled to introduce our inaugural Bubble Wheelchair Wash, where our residents can enjoy a car wash-style cleaning course for their wheelchairs. The atmosphere is lively, with bubbles floating everywhere and music playing. Even our administrator hopped in a wheelchair through the car wash. 😂 We appreciate DAYA’S snow cones for providing snow cones to our residents, staff, and community. A big thank you to the Trojcak family for sponsoring DAYA’S snowcones. We are grateful for their support. Our Activity Director, Victoria, and the staff who helped make this event possible deserve special recognition. It is evident that our residents had a wonderful time.
