When retired nurse Amy Quesinberry went to bed on a Friday night, she felt completely normal. By Saturday morning, her right hand was numb, her fine motor skills were gone, and she knew she needed help.
Amy had experienced a "wake-up stroke." Thanks to her quick instincts and the rapid stroke response team at Northern Regional Hospital, she received immediate, life-saving evaluation and care. From the emergency room to the NRH Stroke Bridge Program that supported her recovery after discharge, Amy experienced firsthand why trusted care close to home matters most.
"Northern Regional Hospital has the best stroke response team I have ever seen," Amy shares. Today, she is back to the moments that matter most, spending time with her great-grandkids.
Amy’s message to you? "Educate yourself on the symptoms of a stroke. It could save your life."
