Speech Myth Monday 🦁

❌ "They'll grow out of it."

✅ While some children can catch up on their own, others benefit from a little extra support. Early intervention can make a BIG difference in helping kids build communication skills and confidence during their most important years of development!

If you've ever found yourself wondering, "Should I be concerned?" It may be time to look into having your kiddo evaluated by a licensed speech therapist. It never hurts to ask questions! Sometimes peace of mind is the best outcome, and early support always makes a difference.

🎒🗣️ MYTH MONDAY: Speech Therapy Edition!

❌ MYTH: “My child receives speech therapy at school, so they don’t need outpatient speech therapy.”

✅ FACT: School-based and outpatient speech therapy serve different purposes — and for some children, they can work wonderfully together!

Outpatient speech therapy provides individualized treatment and can address communication skills that affect your child throughout everyday life — at home, at school, and in the community.

Receiving speech services at school doesn’t automatically mean outpatient therapy needs to stop. When appropriate, support in both settings can provide more opportunities to practice skills, encourage carryover, and help children become more confident communicators!

Back to school doesn’t have to mean goodbye to outpatient speech therapy!
