🧠 YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM AND YOUR FASCIA ARE CONSTANTLY COMMUNICATING.
Have you ever noticed how your shoulders tighten when you’re stressed? Or how your entire body seems to brace itself when you’re anxious, startled, or uncomfortable?
That’s not a coincidence. Your body is responding to what your nervous system is experiencing. Our nervous system is constantly gathering information, assessing our environment, and adjusting how our bodies respond.
And our fascia—the connective tissue network that surrounds and supports our muscles, organs, nerves, and other structures—is part of that conversation.
✨ When your nervous system senses a threat, your body may shift into protection mode.
These responses are designed to protect us. But sometimes, even after the immediate stressor has passed, our bodies continue to demonstrate patterns of tension and guarding.
Over time, these patterns may contribute to discomfort, restricted movement, and difficulty relaxing.
🌿 Here’s where it gets interesting…
Communication goes BOTH ways.
Your nervous system influences muscle tension and movement, while sensory information from your muscles, fascia, and joints continuously feeds back to your brain.
This means that how we move, breathe, and experience touch can influence how our nervous system responds.
Through my work with Myofascial Release (JFBMFR®), Craniosacral Fascial Therapy (CFT), and reflex-based techniques (MNRI), I consider both the body’s physical restrictions and the nervous system’s responses.
My goal isn’t simply to help a muscle relax.
It’s to support greater freedom of movement, improved body awareness, and a nervous system that can respond and adapt more efficiently.
Because sometimes, the body doesn’t just need more stretching or strengthening.
It may also need opportunities to experience movement without guarding or unnecessary tension.
✨ Your body is connected.
✨ Your nervous system is listening.
✨ And your movement patterns can change.
