πŸ¦‡ Bat Awareness: Protect Yourself from Rabies πŸ¦‡

In the United States, bats are the animal most commonly reported with rabies, and most human rabies deaths have been linked to exposure from rabid bats.

❗ Avoid touching bats, even if they appear healthy or injured.
❗ If you wake up and find a bat in your room, or if you think you may have had contact with a bat, seek medical attention immediately.
❗ Keep bats out of your home by ensuring windows and doors have intact screens and sealing any openings where bats may enter.

Rabies is nearly always preventable when treated quickly, but it is almost always fatal once symptoms begin. When in doubt, contact your healthcare provider or local health department.

Stay safe and help spread awareness! πŸ’š
