With my own massage appointment coming up in a week after skipping a month 🫣, I am reflecting on why I love massage...even before I was in the business, I loved it.

I found out at 19 that I had some issues and it was recommended that massage therapy would help. Ever since then, when I could, I would.

I recall one session with a talented therapist that literally took away my low back pain & it hasn't returned to that intensity since.

I remember another talented individual who got my hips back into working order after having my child...and the intense emotional release that followed.

There was also that time, my friend & fellow LMT poured her heart into my session, cried when I couldn't, and made me feel light as air.

Massage has healed me, inspired me, and shifted my entire perspective on being intentional with my craft. I can't explain it all scientifically. However, school taught me that the manipulation of soft tissue (at its very minimal) can encourage blood flow, release tension, lower blood pressure, and bring rest to weary bodies.

I don't go out of my way to correct someone right away, but it does put me on alert. It's something seemingly small to anyone outside the occupation, but trust me. I've dealt with situations, and this was always the gateway verbage used.

I love what the tourist season does for our small town ❤️ Unfortunately, it doesn't translate well for Glow Massage. I am by appointment only, a one woman show, and often don't have same week availability. I'll still be happy to chat, and will have several recommendations for you to continue your relaxation quest with 🙂 Thank you for your interest...vacation massages are the best!

Keep in mind:

Deep tissue does not equate firm pressure. If you want deep tissue, it will rely on how much your tissues can relax. If you want firm pressure, it will rely on how strong your therapist is.

I can do deep tissue, but I can only do so much pressure.

This is why a "deep tissue massage" is not a service I offer. I focus on relaxation with the option of a therapeutic approach.

Relaxation is routine-based with your preferences in mind & my know-how at play.

The therapeutic approach adds a layer of intuitive tension-seeking that includes access to all my tools & modalities.

The more I work with someone, the better I can hone in on how their body moves and holds tension. As I learn their body, and their body begins to trust my approach, the results can be longer-lasting and have greater effect.

This leads into a part of my philosophy that consistency is key! That consistency looks different for everybody, of course, but building a healing routine sets us both up for success.

I've been seeing a handful of clients regularly since the onset of my career. Those folks might not all be cured of their physical ailments, but through years of dedication to massage, they have become more in tune with their bodies and are able to communicate their needs much more clearly. I'm also more comfortable trying new techniques on folks I've known because I know what they can tolerate & how their body typically responds.

Consistency can begin as easily as rebooking with me at the end of your current appointment. Spur of the moment appointments have become difficult to accommodate. Currently, I've been staying booked about 3 weeks in advance.

Last minute requests are still welcomed. Massage doesn't always have to be like clock-work. It all depends on the goals you have for yourself. People do cancel & I keep a list of folks to contact in case that happens.

I know this is a long post, and I'm glad if you've read this far. Just know I'm grateful for any and all of you who have given me the opportunity to work on you. However, if you really want to reap the most benefit from your session, you should certainly rebook with me or any other bodyworker you trust ❤️
