2020 has been a year like no other and that’s particularly true for the telemental health and telepsychiatry industries. Unfortunately, the need for mental health services has spiked during COVID-19, which has brought on the removal, at least temporarily, of nearly every barrier that previously limited telehealth. As we approach the new year, an industry expert shares six trends to expect in 2021.

Discover how The Josselyn Center, a community mental health organization in suburban Chicago, turned to telepsychiatry to meet the increased demand for mental health services in their community. Given the shortage of mental health professionals in the region, they partnered with InSight + Regroup to provide these services. Since introducing their telepsychiatry program, wait times for psychiatry appointments have dropped dramatically and show rates have improved significantly.

Tomorrow is International Survivors of Su***de Loss Day, an event in which survivors of su***de loss come together to find connection, understanding and hope. Each year, the American Foundation for Su***de Prevention supports hundreds of Survivor Day events around the world. Martha Frame, a licensed clinical social worker who works with our Inpathy team and provides telebehavioral health care services to children, adolescents and adults across New York and New Jersey, was invited to speak at the NY Hudson Valley-Westchester event. She will share her experience helping make mental health care more accessible by providing these services virtually to people in their home or other private space.
