What if we taught our children how to care for their energy before they grew up?

Master FaXiang Hou was recently asked:

“How old should someone be to begin learning Qigong and healing Qigong?”

His answer came from experience.

He has watched students bring their own children into the practice—and often, the younger generation becomes genuinely interested in learning.

Master Hou explains that by around 12 or 13 years old, many young people are old enough to begin learning and understanding the practice, especially when the interest comes naturally.

And there can be something very special about starting young.

Instead of waiting until adulthood to begin thinking about health, stress, energy, posture, breathing, and the connection between the mind and body, young people can begin developing those skills early.

🌿 Learn to perceive and connect with Qi
🌿 Develop greater body awareness
🌿 Practice concentration and calmness
🌿 Build healthy habits they can carry into adulthood
🌿 Learn alongside parents and family members
🌿 Begin laying the foundation for deeper Qigong practice later in life

Qigong doesn’t have to begin when something is wrong.
It can be something we grow up knowing.

Master FaXiang Hou’s next Foundation & Continuing Qigong courses begin:

📅 September 14, 2026
✨ Foundation Qigong — 6:00 PM ET
✨ Continuing Qigong — 7:00 PM ET
✨ 10 weeks of live instruction
✨ Recordings available for viewing throughout the 10-week course

Foundation is where new students begin—learning how to connect with Qi and establish the fundamentals.

Continuing takes those same principles deeper, teaching students how to develop, store, and work with that energy on another level.

And for families interested in passing this knowledge to the next generation, there may be no better time to begin than now.

🚨 ONLY DAYS LEFT — CLASSES BEGIN SEPTEMBER 14

If you have been waiting to begin Qigong training with Master FaXiang Hou, this is the time.

Why are Foundation and Continuing taught as two 10-week courses?

Because Master Hou designed them to build on each other.

🏠 Foundation is like cleaning the room.

You begin by learning how to connect with Qi — how to feel it, work with it, and use the foundational practices to help the body clear and detox.

Then comes the next step.

✨ Continuing is like furnishing and strengthening the room after it has been cleaned.

You may practice some of the same exercises, but now the mind and intention change.

You begin learning how to:

• Save and store energy
• Build greater internal strength
• Develop more power in the body
• Work with the same movements at a deeper level
• Strengthen your internal practice instead of simply learning the form

First, clear the room.
Then build something stronger inside it.

That is the progression.

And this fall, students can take Foundation + Continuing together with Master Hou for the full 10-week training experience.

🧘 Master FaXiang Hou’s Foundation + Continuing Qigong
📅 Starts Monday, September 14
⏰ Foundation — 6:00 PM ET
⏰ Continuing — 7:00 PM ET
💻 Live online via Zoom
🎥 Recordings available throughout the 10-week course

You do not need to already understand Qi.

Foundation is where you begin.

If you have been saying, “I want to learn this someday,” someday is getting very close.

🍂 What Should We Drink in the Fall?

As the seasons begin to change, many people notice more congestion, runny nose, allergies, and changes in digestion.

Master FaXiang Hou teaches that our food, tea, herbs, and Qigong practice should also change with the seasons.

For fall, he recommends moving away from the very cooling teas of summer and beginning to drink hot black tea or darker, roasted teas as the weather cools.

He also encourages preparing certain leaves and herbs while they are still growing:

🌿 Mulberry leaves can be gathered and dried for use during the colder months and are traditionally associated with the lungs and respiratory system.

🌿 Plantain leaves can also be dried and prepared as tea. In this video, Master Hou discusses plantain in connection with the intestines, gut, and reproductive organs.

His larger lesson is something he teaches throughout Qigong:

We shouldn’t wait until winter arrives to begin preparing the body for winter.

In Five Element theory, each season brings different needs. Learning how to adjust our food, herbs, exercise, Qigong practice, and daily habits is part of learning to live in greater balance with those seasonal changes.

This is only a small piece of what Master Hou teaches.

He discusses seasonal health throughout his Foundation and Continuing Qigong classes, and goes much deeper into seasonal foods, herbs, Five Element theory, and preparing the body for the changing season during his seasonal fasting classes.

🍂 Our next Seasonal Water Fasting Class begins October 1.

If this kind of traditional seasonal knowledge interests you, you’re welcome to learn with Master Hou. Class information is available through the link in our bio.

Or simply follow along — we’ll continue sharing more of his teachings here. 💙

WHAT IF A DIAGNOSIS ISN’T THE END OF THE CONVERSATION?

For more than 30 years in the United States, people facing some of life’s most difficult health challenges have sought out Master FaXiang Hou’s Medical Qigong.

His work has included people living with serious immune challenges, chronic illness, pain and injury.

And today, his Qigong is also being studied through New York Medical College in research involving lower back pain.

But before students learn how this work may be applied to help others, they have to learn the foundation.

How to feel Qi.
Build it.
Store it.
Move it.
Recognize blockage.
Work with the organs.
Understand the body through Five Element principles.

That is what begins in Foundation + Continuing Qigong.

This is not about promising a cure.

It is about learning a Medical Qigong system that has been passed through five generations and taught by Master Hou in the United States for more than three decades.

Classes begin September 14.

Live online via Zoom · 10 weeks
Foundation: Mondays at 6 PM ET
Continuing: Mondays at 7 PM ET

Have you ever wondered why Traditional Chinese Medicine recommends different foods at different times of the year?

In this video, Master FaXiang Hou shares a traditional saying:

☀️ “In the summertime, eat more ginger.”
❄️ “In the wintertime, eat more daikon.”

The foods may change, but the principle stays the same: as the season changes, we change with it.

🍂 Now we are entering the autumn season — a time traditionally associated with the Lungs, Large Intestine, and the process of letting go in Five Element theory.

Seasonal eating, Qigong, and fasting are all part of learning to work with the body’s natural rhythms rather than treating every season the same.

During Master Hou’s Autumn Water Fast, October 1–4, he goes deeper into these traditional principles — including how food, fasting, the seasons, and the Five Elements work together.

BACK TO SCHOOL. BACK TO SCHEDULES. BACK TO STRESS.
But what if this fall, you learned how to meet all of it differently?

Students feel it.
Teachers feel it.
Parents feel it.

The alarms start earlier. The calendars fill up. Homework returns. Work gets busier. And suddenly, everyone is being pulled in ten directions at once.

In this video, Fifth-Generation Qigong Master FaXiang Hou explains that Qigong training isn’t only physical.

It is also about training the mind.

Through Qigong practice and meditation, students learn to work with their energy, calm the mind, and develop greater internal balance—even when life around them becomes busy.

That may be one of the most valuable things we can learn:
how to keep our peace without needing the world around us to be peaceful.

VERTIGO ISN’T ALWAYS “RANDOM.”

Dizziness.
Feeling off-balance.
Brain fog.
Difficulty concentrating.
That strange sensation that the room—or your own body—is moving.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, vertigo can be viewed as a sign that the body’s internal balance has been disrupted.

Master Hou teaches that when the system becomes overloaded, simply suppressing symptoms does not address what is happening underneath.

This is where Qigong and fasting work from two different directions.

💧 WATER FASTING
Master Hou’s water fast gives the digestive system a period of rest while focusing on cleansing, releasing internal buildup, and bringing the Five Elements and Six Organs back toward balance.

For many people, fasting is when they begin noticing something they haven’t felt in a long time:

A clearer head.
A steadier body.
A quieter internal system.

🍂 FALL WATER FAST — OCTOBER 1–4
Live online with Fifth-Generation Master FaXiang Hou.

And fasting is only part of the work.

🌀 QIGONG TRAINS THE BODY TO MAINTAIN BALANCE.

Through Master Hou’s Qigong system, students learn specific exercises designed to support the organs, circulation, internal balance, and the body’s ability to correct blockages.

WHAT IF THE BODY HAS BEEN ASKING FOR QUIET?

Fasting is not simply about going without food.

In Master Hou’s teaching, fasting gives the body something it rarely receives in modern life:

Space.

Space from constant digestion.
Space from constant stimulation.
Space from what has accumulated over years.

Master Hou has taught water fasting for decades, and some of the experiences he has witnessed have been extraordinary.

He has worked with people living with Parkinson’s and significant tremors who, after incorporating his fasting practice, experienced major changes in how much they trembled.

Some became remarkably steady.

One woman Master Hou has known for years experienced such a dramatic reduction that today she may notice only a slight tremor during periods of extreme stress.

Years later, that change has remained meaningful in her life.

These are the experiences Master Hou is speaking about in this video.

And they are part of why his fasting method is about far more than weight loss.

Today, so many people live with:

• Chronic fatigue
• Neurological overwhelm
• Food and chemical sensitivities
• Internal agitation
• A nervous system that never seems to fully settle

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the body is not viewed as a collection of separate symptoms.

Everything communicates.

The organs.
The nervous system.
The mind.
The environment.
The food we eat.
The burdens we carry.

During an extended water fast, many people describe something beginning to change:

A quieter mind.
Greater clarity.
Less internal agitation.
A feeling of lightness.
A body that finally feels like it can slow down.

Not because something new was added.

But because, for a little while, so much was taken away.
