Sometimes the smallest projects tell the biggest stories. 💙

One of our stroke survivors recently made friendship bracelets as part of his therapy to work on fine motor skills, coordination, dexterity, and hand function. Every bead placed represented practice, persistence, and progress.

We're grateful to receive these handmade bracelets and even more grateful to be part of each patient's recovery journey.

⚖️ How's Your Balance? Take the 30-Second Sit-to-Stand Challenge!

Did you know that leg strength is one of the biggest predictors of balance, mobility, and fall risk?

Try this simple self-assessment at home:
✔️ Sit in a standard chair
✔️ Cross your arms over your chest
✔️ Stand up and sit down as many times as you can in 30 seconds
✔️ Count your repetitions

This quick test can provide valuable insight into lower body strength and functional mobility. If you find the test challenging, have difficulty standing without using your hands, or are concerned about your balance, it may be time to take action.

The good news? Strength and balance can improve at any age with the right exercise program.

💬 Comment below with your score or let us know if you'd like tips to improve your strength and reduce your fall risk!

🌼 Nature has a way of slowing us down and helping us notice the little things. During our Adaptive Wellness in Nature series at River Bend, we spotted some beautiful spring blooms while exploring the trails with naturalist Krista! 🌿
From vibrant colors to unique shapes and textures, each flower gave us a chance to connect with nature, spark conversation, and enjoy movement in a peaceful setting. 🌸✨
We are so grateful for opportunities like these that encourage wellness, curiosity, community, and time outdoors. Which flower would you stop to admire on your walk?
🌼💚

How man of these flowers can you identify?
