If you’re looking to develop more power in your golf swing, here are 3 exercises we like for building golf-specific strength and power.

1. Kneeling Explosive Chop
Train rotational power and rotate fast.
2. Rotational RDL
Load your back leg internal rotation for a bigger turn and better control.
3. Bulgarian Split Squat Med Ball Slam
Get used to using the power from your legs to throw the med ball into the ground.

Golf performance isn’t just about mobility. You need to be able to produce force, control rotation, and transfer power through the ground.

Runners!! Mobility doesn’t have to mean 20 minutes of random stretching.

Here are 5 loaded mobility exercises we like to use to improve the qualities runners actually need for running pain-free:

1. Copenhagen dips
2. Loaded 90/90
3. Re**us active release
4. Adductor roll out
5. Side plank + loaded leg raise

The goal isn’t just to “get more flexible.” It’s to build strength and control through the ranges your body needs to run efficiently.

If you’re a runner struggling with pain or just looking to get faster and stay healthy, reach out and we’re happy to help!

ACL tear → back to soccer in 9 months

Hayden crushed her ACL rehab from start to finish.

Months of rebuilding strength, power, confidence, change of direction, and sport-specific capacity, and now back on the field doing what she loves.

ACL rehab isn’t just about getting cleared. It’s about making sure you’re actually prepared for the demands of your sport.

We’re excited to officially welcome Dr. Lauren Lingle, PT, DPT, CSCS to the Velocity team!

If you’ve been to the clinic over the past several months, there’s a good chance you’ve already met Lauren! She completed her final clinical internship with us while attending MUSC’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, and we’re thrilled that she’s now joining us as a full-time physical therapist.

Sway and slide are two swing characteristics that we see all the time in golfer’s.

It’s the body’s attempt to avoid rotation, and make the golf swing more linear.

95% of the time, improving your hip rotation mobility and control is the most important thing to work on.

Try these movements to help clean up your hip mobility!

OUR TEAM IS GROWING!

Please welcome Elizabeth Heard to Velocity Sports Physical Therapy!

Elizabeth is joining us as our Patient Experience Coordinator, and she’ll be the one helping make sure everything runs smoothly from the moment you reach out to us.

She’s a former soccer player, a massive UGA football fan (unfortunately), and an overall great person. In her free time she is most likely either with her dog Louie, at the beach with friends, or coaching soccer for South Carolina Surf.

Whether it’s helping you get scheduled, answering questions, or keeping things organized behind the scenes, Elizabeth is here to make your experience at Velocity easy, smooth, and stress-free.

We’re pumped to have her on the team—make sure to say hey when you see her around!

Struggling to hit the ball far?

You might be swinging with your arms instead of your body.

The best golfers create power by:
➡️ starting the downswing with the hips
➡️ letting the arms fall naturally
➡️ delivering the club with body rotation

When the sequence is right, power feels effortless.

Most golfers have the sequence backwards.

Want a drill to fix it?
