1 in 8 men get prostate cancer. Which means most men get a PSA scare at some point in their life. Having a doctor who really understands PSA and prostate cancer screening strategies can be very comforting.

During my 17 years practicing urology in Charleston and watching various "men's health" clinics pop up in the area, I often received referrals from them for evaluation of PSA.

Guys, if you are dealing with ED your s*x life is not over. There are so many options out there that men are not even aware of.

There are also a lot of clinics who can't wait to take advantage of their vulnerability by pushing expensive but ineffective treatments.

If you have unlimited funds I would say try every single one of the things on these slides. But if you are like most of us, the best approach is to consider cost versus potential benefit. This requires that your doctor understand the data and present it honestly.

Buckle up, peptide users. More changes are afoot.

Peptides are very interesting - although we have gotten way too far over our skis for some of them in my opinion.

As a class of therapy, there are many that mechanistically make sense with solid pre-clinical evidence, but are just still lacking adequate data for safety and efficacy and humans. Hopefully that is a deficit that will continue to be addressed.

In any event, peptides are not going away. But the landscape from both the user perspective and that of doctors is continuing to change and I would not be surprised if it looks a lot different in two years.

The best we can do as doctors is continue to keep an open mind and learn and keep up with the literature so that we can help guide patients responsibly and in and most personalized way.

We are definitely committed to prioritizing patient safety at The Men's Center.

Urolithin-A definitely has my interest as a dietary supplement, although we probably have not really defined which patients may benefit the most. This is where the gut microbiome continues to be an intriguing variable.
But from 10,000 feet urolithin-A certainly appears to be a supplement with a positive risk-benefit ratio. It is something I have added to my supplement regimen and something I have decided to carry on our supplement shelf at The Men's Center based upon evaluation of current evidence.
