Seniors, this one's for you! Senior Day at the Coastal Carolina Fair is Wednesday, November 4.

⭐ Exhibits & vendors 10 a.m.–2 p.m. — health care, senior services, veteran and caregiver resources
⭐ Fair food, animals, exhibits & music
⭐ Only $5 for seniors 55+ and guests with disabilities of any age
⭐ One caregiver gets in FREE
⭐ Your admission is good all day — rides open at 3 p.m., Bull Riding in the evening
⭐ Accessible parking and quiet places to rest

Sometimes the signs that a loved one needs a little more support are not dramatic. They are quiet.

A refrigerator that is emptier than it should be. Meals that used to be a source of pride now skipped or simplified. A little more weight loss than expected. Less energy. Less interest in cooking or eating together.

For older adults living alone, changes in nutrition often go unnoticed until they have already had an impact. The body's appetite signals become less reliable with age, grocery shopping can feel harder, and preparing a full meal for one person can start to feel like more effort than it is worth.

If you are noticing any of these signs in a parent or loved one, it does not necessarily mean something is wrong. But it is worth paying attention to.

A caregiver who visits regularly helps with grocery runs and meal prep is often a great first line of defense to know that your loved one is regularly eating.
