The National Weather Service is alerting Michigan residents about a multi-day statewide high heat event expected for next week.

Projections indicate that counties in CMDHD's jurisdiction will face moderate to major heat by Monday, with levels continuing to increase into major heat by Tuesday, and major to extreme heat on Wednesday, Thursday, and beyond. Visit www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/heatrisk and cdc.gov/heatrisk to find the most up-to-date heat risk maps.

Take precautions for yourself and your family, and check in on those who may be more vulnerable to heat: older adults, outdoor workers, those without air conditioning, and people with chronic health conditions affected by high temperatures. View MDHHS tips on how to navigate extreme heat, including a link to a fact sheet that gives the symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke: www.michigan.gov/michiganprepares/be-informed/heat.
