Sit ups aren’t just for big kids! Holding hands and pulling up to sitting is a great way to work on neck and core muscles needed for sitting and crawling! Does your child need reading help this summer?

Coastal Therapy Services, Inc. is now offering Literacy-Based Speech Therapy using the Wilson Reading System! The Wilson Reading System is a systematic, multi-sensory approach to literacy that targets reading accuracy, fluency and comprehension in school aged children 6 and up using the philosophies of Orton Gillingham.

As Charleston's oldest, team-based, multi-disciplinary pediatric agency, we are proud to bring these services to our community! We have immediate openings, with clinics in both Goose Creek and Mt. Pleasant. Services can be eligible through your health insurance. Reach out with any questions or referrals!

This simple game is doing so much more than it looks like!

Using both hands on the bat helps build coordination, control, and body awareness, while the back-and-forth play works on:
✨ Hand-eye coordination
✨ Shoulder strength
✨ Postural stability
✨ Motor planning & timing
✨ Visual tracking
✨ Turn-taking & engagement

This game is great for our friends who struggle with handwriting, sitting up straight, and catching a ball. Plus we’re working on our social skills with turn-taking and teamwork to keep the balloon in the air. Best version of “keepy-uppy” yet!
