Thank you to everyone that has already called to request their pets sedation medications for the 4th! As a reminder to those that have not done so yet, requests made after Thurs July 2 are not garunteed to be ready in time for the 4th. When you call to make your request, please press 1 and leave all pertinent information. THIS APPLIES FOR ALL REQUESTS - prescriptions being filled here, prescriptions being called in somewhere, prescriptions being written to be taken somewhere, and requests for medications to be authorized for the first time. MEET THE (NEW) DOCTOR!

You may have recently seen us mention on here that we are getting a third doctor soon. Well that time is now! Starting June 22, you will be seeing a new face around here. We are happy to introduce you to Dr. Syndey Twyman! Originally from Pennsylvania, she fell in love with South Carolina (especially Charleston!) during her undergrad years at Clemson University. She achieved both her master’s and veterinary degrees from the University of Georgia, where she developed strong interests in surgery, behavioral medicine, and cardiology. Dr. Twyman loves all animals but she has a special passion for feline medicine, sparked by her work with shelter cats. She looks forward becoming part of and growing with the great community here at Pet Vet Animal Hospital! Outside of work, Dr. Twyman can be found exploring new music venues, practicing yoga, and spending time with her extra-toed kitty, Toeseph. We already love her and are sure you will too!

If you happen to come into the clinic this week, please give these hardworking ladies some love! We cannot thank them enough for doing all that they do while making it look so easy! You can call us biased, but we know we have the best front desk staff around! They got their goodie baskets today, but this whole week is about letting them know how much we love them and that they are appreciated! HAPPY RECEPTIONIST WEEK!!!

This morning we received a heartbreaking phone call. A gentleman was driving down Savannah Hwy this morning when his service dog jumped out the window. Two Good Samaritans stopped to save the dog. The lady that managed to catch the dog told the other lady that she was going to contact Pet Vet but we have not heard anything from her. The lady left with the dog before the owner could circle back but he did connect with the second lady that helped catch the dog and that is how we learned the whole story. As you can imagine, he is just devastated so any help in locating this Good Samaritan would greatly be appreciated!

The ring-leader of our group, as some would call him, is Dr. Brian King. He started practicing here in July 1993 and bought the practice in 2005. Originally from Memphis, he achieved his degree at Mississippi State University. You may notice that the clinic is not your “run of the mill” clinic. Dr King is a lover of the arts, which is not only reflected in our colorful clinic with eclectic mix of local and world art pieces, but also in his presence on the music scene. He can always be seen out and about at local music venues. On weekends you may also find him out and about with his wife Liz and their 2 girls, Bella and Francesca. The 4-legged members of their family include 2 dogs, Gus and Lola.
