PDR Physical Therapy & Wellness Center

PDR Physical Therapy & Wellness Center We’re not your typical PT clinic - our therapy targets organs and body systems, not just muscles and joints. This level of care sets us apart.

No cookie-cutter exercises - just real, root-cause healing. At PDR Physical Therapy & Wellness Center, we do more than just treat muscles and joints. We specialize in highly advanced, hands-on physical therapy that addresses the entire body, including internal organs and body systems. Using unique techniques like Fascial Counterstrain, we’re able to treat not only pain and dysfunction in the muscl

es and spine, but also issues related to the nervous system, vascular system, lymphatic system, and even digestive organs. While most physical therapy clinics stop at the surface, we dig deeper, getting to the root causes of your symptoms and helping your body heal from the inside out.

👉 Why pelvic pain feels different in different people

Pelvic pain can feel very different from one person to another, which is one of the reasons it often gets overlooked or misunderstood.

For some people, it feels like burning or irritation. Others describe pressure, heaviness, or a deep ache that never fully goes away. Sometimes the discomfort is constant, and other times it comes and goes without a clear reason.

The confusing part is that the same symptom can come from very different causes.

In some cases, the pelvic floor muscles are weak. In others, they are actually too tight and unable to relax properly. Breathing patterns, scar tissue, pressure in the abdomen and pelvis, and even the nervous system can all play a role.

That is why pelvic pain is not always as simple as strengthening muscles or doing Kegels. Understanding what is actually driving the symptoms matters.

🚲 World Bicycle Day

Cycling is great for your heart, endurance, and overall health — but your body still has to move well to enjoy it.

We often see cyclists dealing with:
• knee pain
• hip tightness
• low back pain
• neck tension
• numbness or tingling in the hands

Sometimes it is the bike fit. Sometimes it is mobility, posture, old injuries, or movement patterns that slowly start causing problems.

Pain should not be part of the ride.

Happy World Bicycle Day to everyone getting their miles in today 🚲

👉 Leaking urine is common. It’s not normal.

A lot of people assume bladder leakage is simply part of getting older, having children, or “just something that happens.”

It may be common, but that does not mean you have to live with it.

Whether leaking occurs when coughing, sneezing, exercising, laughing, or rushing to the bathroom, it usually means the system is not working as it should.

One thing many people do not realize is that leaking is not always caused by weakness. In some cases, the pelvic floor is actually too tight, pressure in the body is not being managed well, scar tissue is involved, or breathing mechanics are affecting how the system works.

That is why treatment should start with understanding what is actually causing symptoms.

At PD Rehab, we look at the whole picture and may include pelvic floor therapy, Fascial Counterstrain, breathing mechanics, scar tissue treatment, and gentle hands-on therapy to improve how the system functions.

Because treating the reason behind symptoms matters more than guessing.

Reflux is usually treated as a stomach problem, but in many people, there is more going on.

At PD Rehab, we often see patients whose symptoms seem connected to things nobody has looked at before — especially the diaphragm, breathing mechanics, rib cage mobility, and pressure between the chest and abdomen.

When the diaphragm is restricted or pressure in the body is not working the way it should, reflux symptoms may become much harder to calm down.
That is one reason medication or diet changes do not always solve the whole problem.

Our treatment approach may include visceral manual therapy, Fascial Counterstrain, diaphragm treatment, breathing retraining, and gentle hands-on techniques aimed at restoring better movement and pressure balance in the body.

Sometimes the missing piece is not in the stomach itself.

When people hear pelvic floor pain, they often think it means pain only in the pelvic area.
But that’s not always how it shows up.

Sometimes it feels like:
• low back pain
• hip pain
• tailbone pain
• groin discomfort
• pressure in the abdomen or pelvis
• pain with sitting

This is one of the reasons pelvic floor problems are often missed. The symptoms don’t always seem connected, and many people spend months — sometimes years — treating the wrong area.

The pain isn’t always where the problem starts.

Stress doesn’t just stay in your head.
Over time, it can show up as tension, pain, breathing changes, or symptoms that don’t fully make sense.

We wrote more about how stress affects the body — and where physical therapy fits into it.

💛We see this more often than you’d think.

Patients come in with neck pain, back pain, headaches, or symptoms that don’t fully add up. They’ve had tests. They’ve tried different treatments. Nothing really explains it.

And very often, no one has told them this before: long-term stress can drive these symptoms. Not in a vague way, but physically - through muscle tension, breathing patterns, and how the nervous system stays on high alert.

For many patients, this is the first time it actually makes sense.

👉 When symptoms don’t fully make sense

Some patients come in with:
• dizziness
• unexplained pain
• tightness that keeps coming back
• symptoms that don’t match test results

They’re often told, “Everything looks normal.” But the body doesn’t feel normal. In many of these cases, the nervous system is involved, and that’s something we can actually work with.

Chronic stress often shows up as:
• neck and shoulder tension
• headaches
• chest tightness
• shallow breathing
• fatigue that doesn’t make sense

Over time, your body starts to treat stress like a constant threat. That’s where physical therapy can help, not by “treating stress,” but by helping the body come out of that state.
