Obituary For Ernestine Leeanna Taylor
Ernestine LeeAnna Taylor, affectionally known as “Erni” was born in Mt. Shasta, California, on April 26, 1996, to Henry and Linda Taylor. Ernestine accepted Christ at an early age. She attended W**d Elementary School and W**d High School in W**d, California.
As the youngest child in the family, Erni was blessed with a special closeness to her parents. As her older siblings began building lives of their own she enjoyed many years of sharing everyday moments with her mother and father, creating a bond filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. She loved them deeply and was grateful for the time they spent together.
Anyone who knew Erni will always remember her beautiful smile and the laughter she shared so freely. One of her favorite ways to greet family and friends was with a cheerful, “Good morning, Gorgeous”, a simple phrase that instantly made people feel seen and appreciated.
Ernestine found her greatest joy in being surrounded by the people she loved. She cherished life’s simple moments, whether spending a peaceful day fishing on the lake or enjoying conversations on the phone with family and friends. She valued the time she spent with the people she loved and never took those moments together for granted.
Erni had a caring and compassionate heart that reached beyond her own home. As a home heathcare provider she lovingly cared for her beloved grandmother, Martha McGehee, a role she embraced with patience, kindness, and love. Caring for her grandmother was more than a job-it was an expression of her love. Through her gentle spirit and devoted care, she made a meaningful difference in her grandmother’s life each day.
Ernestine shared a special life with her partner, Gerald Holmes. Together they built a beautiful family filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She was a devoted mother to her beloved daughter, Jazmynne. And embraced Josiah, Jakobe, and Jace with love, care, and an open heart. Whether sharing meals, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying everyday moments together. Her family was the center of her world and she treasured every moment they spent together.
Erni also enjoyed expressing her love through cooking. Family and friends always looked forward to her famous 'space burgers’, which became a favorite at family gatherings and cookouts. For Ernestine, preparing a meal wasn’t just about food- it was about bringing people together, creating memories, and enjoying one another’s company.
Erni was preceded in death by her father, Henry Taylor. Left to cherish her memory is her precious children, Jazmynne, Josiah, Jakobe, and Jace; her partner, Gerald Holmes; her beloved mother, Linda Taylor; her loving brother, Isaiah, her treasured sisters, Terenna and Gillian; and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness and love.
We will remember her smile, cherish the moments we shared, and hold close the memories that time can never take away.
Erni will be Forever Loved, Forever Remembered, and Forever Missed.
There will be a Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Ernestine on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel, 830 Lassen Lane, Mount Shasta, California.
Interment: Lincoln Heights Cemetery, W**d, California.
