Trauma is not always something we can simply “think” our way through. It can show up in the body, emotions, images, physical sensations, and the nervous system—even when we understand exactly why we feel the way we do.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy, or ART, uses guided eye movements and imagery techniques to help the brain reprocess distressing experiences without requiring someone to repeatedly describe every painful detail. For some people, this can create meaningful relief in a relatively short period of time.
Healing is not about erasing what happened. It is about helping the memory feel like something that happened in the past—rather than something your mind and body are still reliving today.
