“To our incredible nurses. A nurse’s workday goes far beyond completing tasks; it reflects a deep commitment to doing what's right for each patient in the moment they need it most. Whether you're coordinating care with multiple providers, ensuring new medication orders are readily available to administer, providing guidance to a patient’s loved one, you bring intention, focus, and compassion to every interaction while providing a solution for what’s best for the patient. You recognize subtle changes, respond without hesitation, and advocate tirelessly to ensure the best possible outcome. To our night shift nurses, who carry this promise forward through the quiet hours, thank you for your reassuring presence. Your continued commitment ensures our patients feel safe, supported, and never alone, no matter the time. Thank you for always addressing needs with urgency.” Ruby Durham, Regional Nurse - South Carolina

Start your week out right-- thank a nurse! 💙

“During Skilled Nursing Week, one simple promise that makes a powerful difference is this: I will use your name always and I will tell you my name and the purpose of my visit. In our nursing centers, every interaction is an opportunity to bring dignity, comfort, and trust to our patients. When we address someone by their name, we remind them they are seen, valued, and known. When we introduce ourselves and clearly explain why we're there, we reduce anxiety, build confidence, and create a sense of safety. It only takes a few seconds, but it makes a big difference in the care we provide. To our nurses, thank you for the heart, skill, and dedication you bring to this work. We appreciate the difference you make in the lives of our patients every single day.” - Jessica Bader, Regional Nurse - Missouri

Nurses truly embody the essence of compassion and professionalism in every aspect of their work. From their unwavering dedication to patient care to their ability to provide comfort during the toughest moments, nurses are the unsung heroes of our healthcare system. Their skills and knowledge not only save lives but also foster healing and hope. Amber Trousdale Regional Nurse, Metro Region says:
“In celebration of National Skilled Nursing Week, I want to take a moment to thank you for the meaningful difference you make every single day. One of the simplest yet most powerful things you do is greet others with a smile and make eye contact. In those brief moments, you create connection, comfort, and trust. For our patients, it can ease fear. For families, it can bring reassurance. And for your teammates, it strengthens the sense of support and unity that defines great care. Your presence, compassion, and professionalism never go unnoticed. It’s often the small gestures— like a warm greeting—that leave the biggest impact. Thank you for all that you do and for the smile you bring to our patients!”

Today we recognize the individuals within our organization who took the step to invest in their futures. Their hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed. Eastern Regional Nurse Scott Flemmer shared this sentiment perfectly.

"We have many nurses across our company who have taken the initiative to advance their education—CNA to LPN or RN, LPN to RN, RN to BSN, and beyond. We are very proud of each of them and their investment in their personal and professional growth. Happy Nurses Week!” Scott Flemmer, Eastern Regional Nurse

As we continue our celebration of nurses week, we reflect on the words shared by South Central Regional Nurses Tina Howes, and Brandy Moore. These ladies shared their gratitude with all of our nurses across our company in the below statements.

“Nurses earn trust not through what they say, but through what they consistently do when no one is watching and when everything feels uncertain. It’s in the way they notice small changes in a patient before anyone else does, the way they follow through on what they promised, and the way they stay steady in moments of fear, pain, and chaos. Trust is built in the quiet things, explaining a procedure one more time, catching an error before it reaches a patient, or simply sitting for an extra minute so someone doesn’t feel alone. Patients may not always remember every task, but they always remember how they were treated and whether they felt safe. During Nurses Week, we pause to recognize our wonderful nurses and that this kind of trust isn’t accidental it’s earned every single day by nurses who show up with skill, compassion, and integrity. It’s a reminder that what we do matters deeply, even when it feels routine, because it shapes the experience and outcomes of every patient we touch.”

“As an organization, we are blessed to have nurses committed to our patients by listening with intention, to treat every concern with the respect it deserves, and to recognize what matters to our patients and customers is important. NHC nurses recognize whether it’s a question, a worry, or a suggestion, patients’ feedback helps us provide safer, more compassionate care. This week and every week, we appreciate all that our licensed nurses do to address all concerns and ensure the best possible outcomes for all.” - Brandy Moore, Regional Nurse, South Central Region
