Genealogy-themed vacation, part 3: PACKING ESSENTIALS:
1. Digital backup tools: Download scanning apps or bring a portable scanner, laptop, and extra phone battery packs to preserve historical physical records. Or even easier, take pictures of the document with your phone!
2. The "icebreaker" folder: Carry physical or digital copies of old family photos, trees, and your own family photos to share with local historians or newfound distant relatives.
3. Surname tokens: Pack small, regional gifts from your hometown to give as thank-you tokens to helpful locals, librarians, or clerks.
